Finally got it... Been playing it for a little bit, wow it is really different and actually quite hard for a bit. Now I'm starting to get the hang of it though.

Anyone still playing it?

Anyone playing it on a 2600xt??

And just curious whats probably the minimal card you can play the game at decently at low settings, I found a few tweaks to turn down some ini file settings, which seem to help...

Curious because my brother wants to play it and he has a Prescot 3.0 1 gig of ram and agp for video but doesn't want to burn $130+ on a 1950pro or something, he plans on upgrading in the next few months so kinda wants something decently hot he can play this game with for a bit...

7600? 1650? x800?

7600gt is probs his best bet just oc it to the max, although another gig of ram would definately be a must, the x800 probably would be a better choice but r6lv is sm3 only and the x800 wont play it :nutkick: if he can try and get a 7600gt and another cheap gig of ram, it wont run well on that old prescott with 1gb at all

edit: if he can stretch to a 2600xt that would be the best option by far but like i said dont expect miracles with his prescott and 1gb ram

I was kinda pushing him to get a 7600 anyways.

The 2600xt would be something for his new system, which will also in the least be a Pentium D 9** series... *Only because I have a 915 sitting around and don't know if I'm going to sell it.*

Actually there is an edit in the ini file to give up on the sm3.0 also you can change it to sm2.0 :), but I read that makes it look pretty bad.

Rainbow Six Vegas is great! its really short though which is kinda disapointing. Playing it again for the 3rd time atm. :)

My old 7600GT played it very nicely on medium settings, looks great with the x1950pro though. :p

Wow! This was actualy the first game I tried out on my HD2600XT after I installed it! Just managed to finish it for the second time, last night.

First time I played it was with my X1650XT and I thought it looked great then but now.... daaaaaaamn! The new HD series just seems to bring the screen to life! Playing it @ 1280x1024 with all the available settings in the options menu turned up.

BTW, If he can't swing the money for a new HD2600 series, I'd recommend an X1650XT since their faster than a 7600GT and you can easily get one for sub $100 USD these days. nflesher87 has my old X1650XT and I think he was trying to sell it for $80 so perhaps ask him if he still has it?

On a different note, does anyone find the comments and remarks by your team mates a little annoying at times? The "Nice Shot" and "Impressive" remarks get old after awhile!

Yes I can agree with the commentary part of the game...

I would make him get a 2600xt or 1650xt but he is agp currently and needs something to run it for a few months. So we are stuck to a few cards, in which case I think the 7600 is going to be the fastest/bang/buck card.
