RAM Not Working and Crashing Programs?

Hey so it appears that I'm having some issues with my RAM. Games keep crashing and usually take Chrome with it, and whenever Chrome goes I get the message you get when it runs out of RAM, and today when a game crashed I also got an error message for it for the first time, and it said it was an error with a memory location. I've ran memtest and it returned no errors. Any ideas?

ive only 16gb in my VR rig and theres plenty left.

Done it and even checked in task manager, nothing is eating up more RAM more than normal.

As a start if don't have a blue screen like "Irql less or not equal", your Ram might be alright but I can't say for sure still it just says there is no critical error yet. My pny ram works the same way very occassion blue screen but most of the time dors not seem stable.

I don't really have much advice but to go through a process of elimination from software first like reinstalling programmes then moving on to hardware changing Ram or testing a different power supply. Checking Ram connections as lose ram connection can result in error.

Done that, removed any threats it showed, and things still crash.

is your FX overclocked, if so try a diff overclock. have you increased windows pagefile vmem ?

I used to have similar issues with my FX series. Manually setting the timings did the trick. This pic shows the timings I used.
Edit: Mine used to BSOD or hard freeze when set to "DDR3 1600MHz" without changing timings.

your specs show 24gb of ram. are they all the same 8 8 8 = 24 and same manufacturer and speed? Do you have 3 out of the 4 slots populated? have you tested it with just 8 or 16gb installed?

I have a technical question about Dram "self-refresh mode".

I know it's suppose to retain data when memory controller is idle, is this in sleep or hibernate mode which seems to be the same thing.
But if I remove the self-refresh mode via the SPD, I can't see the difference when computer is woken up.

You could try just two sticks as if you're at 24GB then I can probably guess it's 2x8GB and 2x4GB, take the two 4GB sticks out and see if it still happens, also try the sticks in both dual-channel slots.
