Ram overclocking on the Crosshair V Formula

Currently I'm at 1880mhz with 10-11-10-30-41 timings at 1.75v( voltage not yet tweaked). My mems are the Avexir Core Series DDR3 1600 c9. Is there any other setting I need to change aside from the voltage ram and the vddr? Using the mem. divider of 2133 gets me at DDR3 2190 ( i had oc'ed my fsb as well ). I can't get it to boot regardless of loosened timings ( highest I tried is cl12 ) and voltage( highest I tried is 1.85v ).

here's what I got so far. Anything above that even with loose timings and/or higher voltage I got a no boot.

Any idea on what modules you have on your ram? Also have you tried bumping the NB volts a bit along with timings such as 10-12-12?

what cdawall said, cpunb probably needs a bump.

and when stress testing with tweaked ram I find the cpu needs a bit more.

you may have to loosen some of the other timings, I know my ram wont boot with the latency at below 160ns and higher ram speeds wants 240ns and more

nope and looking at reviews they didn't bother taking of the heatsink and looking at the chips either. You mean the cpu-nb volts? Already had it at 1.4v. You think I should bump it even more and try 2133 again?

Forgive my lack of intuition when it comes to tweaking timings :eek:

this is what gets me high speeds, 2550mhz (forget the CR and TRFC)

1.4v is fine for 2.6ghz on cpunb

main ones are command rate on 2 and latency performance/refresh rate 240ns and higher.

so I tried loosening the tRFC to as high as 350ns ( default was 300ns ). Tried cl12 with a command rate of 2t. Bumped the cpu-nb to 1.45. Still no boot at 2133.
