Ram upgrade

I can get another 4gb of 800mhz ddr2 ram for only £36 in the uk as ram is really cheap right now :)

would it be worth it with my machine going to 8 gb ?

No it would not. You should save that money up to a new proccesor or case. That 4GB would be barely noticeable if noticed at all.

Your computer is fine. If it were me, I would go for 4gb's of faster RAM and sell the stuff you have now.

Thats a good idea. I didnt even think of that. But the faster ram would also be a unoticed performance gain? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I dont think my motherboard supports faster ram ?

So keep the money for a ddr3 i7 setup really ? i suppose i7 ddr3 route is the only real upgrade path to get on but i still think it is overpriced at the moment and i dont see i5 as anything more than core2 replacement.

I think I P35/P45 is in order. They are not very expensive and are solid boards. Asus and DFI both make very good ones.
