IF ANYBODY IS INTERESTED, I FOUND THESE OLD ATI DRIVERS :
1.)wxp-766-04-02019x-2545e(6_13_10_6025)S.P. - Radeon 7&8000 series. Quake 3 Arena driver. this driver was made just for Quake 3 Arena. i used it on my Radeon 8500. i gained over 45 f.p.s @1280X1024. it improved game performance dramatically! but a few other games i lost a few f.p.s. DVD playback was unaltered. D3D gaming was unchanged for the most part.
2.)wxp-2k-8-07-018380e(version 8.07)DOOM 3 specialized driver.Radeon 9700-9800 Pro. this driver was optimized for playing doom 3,,and was made for the radeon 9700-9800 series cards. it vastly improved performance,but varied from what kind of system you had(full blown high end gaming rig vs. middle of the road rig. but then there was a hotfix driver that followed this one.
3.)wxp-2k-DOOM-HOTFIX-8-05-040727a-017086e - this was was the hotfix driver for DOOM 3. i can't tell you much about it,, i never used it. but ATI released it,so it must have some purpose. if anybody knows what these prefix numbers are for every driver,i guess you could look them up.
i used to catalog EVERY driver ATI made every month. i have 3 DVD'S full of old drivers,dating back to like late 2001-early 2002. some of these drivers were before they switched to the catalyst control center(C.C.C.) and i still havent gone thru all of them. i think i even have a few drivers that were for M.M.C.(multi media center). and the icing on the cake is i found my Radeon 9700-9800-9600XT installation CD that has all those cool screen savers on them. if anybody who has old A.T.I. cards,,still uses windows 2000 or XP,,i have these old drivers id be delighted to cher with the community.im still in shock that i found these discs. i have to honestly have over 50 drivers,,a few oddball ones, starting at catalyst driver 3.0 to like 4.11 or 4.12. so i hope to be able to cher these drivers with whoever has a use for them. i shure was happy when i browsed my 9800 pro install cd and found all those cool screen savers they made. ill have to copy all of those to a thumb drive. i just dont know how i can upload them to whoever wants them. but if anybody is interested,please message me here,,or email me. AND I DEARLY HOPE IM ALLOWED TO DO THIS,,IM JUST TRYING TO HELP OUT ANYBODY IN THE TECHPOWERUP COMMUNITY. IM DEFINITELY NOT TRYING TO START PROBLEMS. OR IF I AM ALLOWED TO OFFER THIS TO EVERYONE. SO IF THE ADMINISTRATION OF THIS SITE DON"T MIND, IM JUST TRYING TO OFFER THESE TO ANYONE HERE,,FREE OF CHARGE. so i do hope to hear from people. if there's a old driver your looking for ask me,,i might have it. i still have to sit down and sort out 3 dvd's worth of these drivers. in total theres 3 full dvd's 4.7 gigs each so almost 14 gigs of old ati drivers,,screen savers, and miscellanious software. ill post when ive sorted thru all of them,,ill get around to doing it this weekend. ill keep everyone posted when i get all of them sorted out.
