I would have gone with a fast core 2 duo rather that with that quad. Is way better for games. Still, not a bad pc

I wouldn't consider this general nonsense. I think he is asking us to rate his system configuration that he plans on buying in the next few days. Lots of people have threads like this. I am sure you even have at some time... ;)

    --------

I would agree with what others said. I would go with a fast dual core vs. a q8200. Get an e8400 or better.

I would get a better mobo and CPU cooler

    2 gigs of memory

    512mb GTS 250

    And a better PS

Also like everyone else says a faster dual (can upgrade later to a quad when ur rich)

and save a bit of money use a 2.1 set of speakers for now.

Wow. I'm going to have to start my own thread like this and link all of my newegg builds for a higher post count ;)

People ask questions in the Rate the System Above You! thread and get great responses. I still rate 0/10 since he has such little info. I don't care what the heck kind of parts he has... I mean hell I accept that u2k likes to run on PIII computers, but it's what and how the hardware is used/modded/cooled/overclocked that makes it worth being outside of general nonsense.

I hear what your saying and I totally agree with you. But if every moderator was as harsh as you then 3/4 of everything posted on tpu would belong in general nonsense. Oh and everything that u2konline posts belongs in general nonsense, that guy has no idea what he is talking about.

0/10. You could be choosing parts to make a computer that will let you watch newgrounds.com @ blazing speeds. I have no background therefore nothing to base your parts off of. A Core2Duo will game, your GTX250(9800) could be used for gaming, and the rest could be for anything. You could just be looking for a nice machine. I'm NOT looking to pick a fight, but I would like to know WHY you are building this machine. What sort of software will you be running? Those kinds of things are important before I slap an arbitrary 7/10 or some stupid rating on your rig.

Well seeing i'm 12 and building the rig myself for my first build I think its pretty good...I'm not using it to run Crysis at 1980x1200 Res at Ultra high lol. I'm just a little noobie you know. NOTE im in AUS and my parents won't let me buy of ebay. So im using it for net adn homework too.

Agreed. Some more info would be nice and a q8200 isn't gonna be good for gaming compared to a high end core2duo for around the same price.

You could get an E8400 or something for around the same price, why would you get a Q8200?
