6/10 for you. System is getting a little dated.
8/10 ... if my 6850 is getting outdated so is your 6870 ..
i agree it is. Waiting for a 7950 in the spring.
9.9999999999999999999/10 for you
7/10 good video card, OK cpu.
only one 5870m?
8.9/10 nice HTPC .
9-10 only because its not oc'd but otherwise good pc must game v well
8/10 very nice, but CPU is lacking a little. You got plus for having an extremely fast SSD.
8.7/10 Very good system, but no overclock on the 2600k?!?! Madness I say! And with a noctua D14 no less! You know they can easily do 4.0 on stock volts right? Loose .8 of a point for that.
I was going to give yours 8.5/10 but if mine is 8.7, then yours is an 8...
I don't overclock. I prefer playing games to tiinkering with my hardware. When the CPU is too slow, I purchase a new one. This one runs fast enough for me.
then why buy the K in the first place? the non K would give exactly the same performance, and the hardware virtualisation stuff would have still been there.
I like having headroom just in case.
but if you dont OC... what headroom?
But do you know how easy it is to overclock to say 3.8-4.1? Go into bios, choose 3800-4100mhz, move voltage manually to about 1.25, save and exit. Done. Don't even need to stress test coz those volts are heaps, and if it isn't stable, just reset to defaults. You're strange.
Well just in case someday I suddenly run into something that NEEDS more performance. I might OC. I have OC'ed in the past, often at the end of the life of a CPU. So, as a general rule I don't OC, but I like having the option, even if I never use it.
If it isn't broken... You know.
Hey I even have a 1-button OC on my MSI motherboard. I hear they work fine. Might even press it someday...
Heck, I hear Skyrim does better with OC even though it never maxed a core on my cpu... STOP IT YOU GUYS!!!
horrux: i rate you an 8/10, because without OC'ing you're missing out
someone please rate my soon to be laptop, keeping in mind its a replacement for my HTPC in sig pic:
(i'm getting it for $500 Au, not the $800 in the link)
6.5/10 for the laptop
I can actually confirm this. I did a little test the other day where, in the middle of playing skyrim, I positioned myself at the middle of the flight of stairs in whiterun (where you get low frames), minimized Skyrim, went to Asus's AI Suite (for software overclocking), dropped the CPU from 4700mhz to 3300mhz, went back to skyrim, sure enough, I went from 40fps to 33. I made sure I didn't move my player while doing the test. Measured with fraps. I then dropped the CPU to something silly like 1600mhz with devastating results. So yeah, just something for you to think about.
And no, Skyrim hasn't come close to maxing any cores.
Are you kidding for a lappy that's at least a 7.5. I'd give it an 8. Great processor, I've owned the non-mobile version of that GPU, it's not terrible. Lose points for screen res though.
Nice RIG you have there... I'll give you a 8.7/10...
the CPU is only Dual core , and the GT520 not really good for anything else then watching videos..
