The DeathAdder V2 Mini can be summed up in a single sentence: A DeathAdder, just (much) smaller. Equipped with PixArt's PAW3359, Razer optical switches for the main buttons, and pure PTFE feet, the 58 g Mini no doubt passes for a big boy in everything related to performance.

Ugh, a matte, sweat-stained surface. Why no mouse has Glock's Gen 3 nitro finish? :banghead: Or something similar that sticks to plastic. :D
Hmm, now that I'm thinking of it, they can even use Polymer 2 from the frame.

Also, Teflon is trademark of Chemours. Razer once got themselves into another mess when they printed it on their packaging, obviously without Chemours consent.

Edit: I see Synapse is as dreadful as usual. It seems that 'gamers' care little when they have bling.

Great in-depth review as always, @pzogel.

I own one of these and have small hands. My fingers, however, are long and so while I can palm this mouse well, my index and middle finger tend to hang over the front a little bit, so I either have to slightly curl said fingers, or move my hand back a bit. All in all though, it's a fun little rodent...but not enough for $50. That's just crazy

Luckily, I was able to pick mine up via Amazon (sold and shipped by) for $20 a few weeks ago. :D

Yes...Amazon (sold and shipped) for $20 is fantastic. Would love to buy one of these for
my "overbed hospital tray" and laptop use. The tray is a bit small as my 17" laptop takes
much of the room and my curent bigger mouse is hard to manage. Will have a look today
at the Amazon Warehouse for this mini-mouse.

MSRP is a joke. This is a cheap, all-plastic mouse with an excellent entry-level sensor from Pixart. It is the sort of mouse I prefer (lightweight, no-nonsense, essential performance without expensive frills)

To be honest, once a sensor is good enough to make the flawless sensor list, there doesn't seem to be much point in using a more expensive one. Still, the $20 Amazon price is great value and IMO this should have a $35 MSRP as it's a very basic, barebones mouse.

The LOD thing didn't bother me that much - after updating the firmware (not sure if it's related).
I got it for around ~25 USD, it's a cheaper Chinese-only version without the grip tape. This should be a 30-40 USD mouse, then it should be fantastic.
The buttons already help me so much more with FPS games, and I am so satisfied with it.

Hey @pzogel, may I ask you how you tested the XM1r with LDAT v2?
Are you using the 1.8.154 firmware? Is MotionSync ON or off? Did you disable the SlamClick algorithm?

I was using 1.8.120. Slam Click was enabled, MotionSync disabled. The latter only affects sensor data anyway and wasn't functional at the time.

ok, thank you for replying, 1.8.154 could give you better results.

One of the endgame gear firmware developers on discord said that "click latency is also slightly higher on 1.8.40, it was optimised with 1.8.122" (- Fr3ak).

Thanks, I'll give it a try next time I'm working with the LDAT.

Last time I tested Viper 8k, RVU, some other mice not listed in the current click latency chart and XM1r with LDAT 2.09 in one go, I got on my system:
Viper 8K: +0ms
XM1r 1.8.154: +2ms
RVU: +3ms

@pzogel are you using a microphone for click detection?

Yes I do. Two different ones actually for sanity-checking. LDAT 2.10 for me (latest firmware).

I have one control mouse with a cable. The difference wired vs mic was in favour for mic values being 0.5ms lower (on LDAT 2.09 though). I need to update and do a new round of testing. Interestingly LDAT 2.09 added 0.5ms on mic tested values vs 2.03. Wondering if that was a mistake and was reverted on 2.10.

I have the suspicion that the barrier in optical switches opens before the click sound is heard, but I need to do more valid testing to compare, currently waiting for new PCBs.

I like razer hardware but Synapse 3.0 is horrible. It frankly feels like adware because of it's long load times and the 3 services it installs.

I would like you to guide me on something. If I play Dota 2 with 20 ms ping latency and use a Deathadder V2 Mini with 0.9 ms click latency, would I have an overall delay of 20.9 ms? Or just 20 ms? Thanks.

Click latency and ping are unrelated. Ping is what comes on top of system latency, of which click latency is a part. Click latency merely describes how much latency the mouse adds to the system latency.

Was this review done on the latest firmware that improves the LOD issues?

Do you by any chance know which later batches have the new optical v2 switches? I assume I'm safe with 2021 batches? I bought one but it seems to be 2034 and both clicks are quite mushy.

I don't think the V2 Mini even had V1s at any point. That said, clicks can still happen to be mushy even with V2s, unfortunately.
