I've been playing games for more than 12 years with KB+Mouse and have never used a controller before. Games are becoming more and more controller optimized and I have an Eyefinity setup that would give a better experience with a gamepad, so I decided to get one

I've narrowed my options to Razer Onza TE BF3 Edition (Wired):

And Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows :

They both seem pretty good, but have heard very mixed views on razer products...

Which one is better ?

I like the standard XBOX 360 controller.

^ This... and the wired version. It has to be one of the most physically solid controllers ever made and any game that uses a controller supports the Xbox 360 controller.

I use the 360 controller pretty much exclusively with games now. I cannot game with keyboard and mouse for more than a few minutes without being in pain from doing so. I also use the 360 headset's mic in teamspeak, and the combo works very well.

I used an original XBOX controller long before that, had to make my own plug, etc, and even then the original XBOX contorller worked pretty well. That controller was unsupported, but the 360 controller is 100% supported and works with probably 95% of games out there, withotu having to configure anything.

I have both. the microsoft one has incredibly loose joysticks. I can't play a racing game without setting up a dead zone. the razer doesn't. otherwise, the razer has meatier triggers, the face buttons are mouse clicks so that's obviously superior, it's more comfortable. the d-pad is very good as a modern d-pad for selecting stuff, but not so good for 2d platforming. so yeah it's a better gamepad in most aspects.

the analog sticks come loose if you abuse them. if you let them sit overnight they will be tight again.
