Reuters reports RealNetworks, makers of RealPlayer, settled for $460 million cash (US) and $301 million worth of advertising and promotion for their music service, Rhapsody, on Microsoft's MSN.com site. This is the closing of one of the last antitrust suits filed in the US against Microsoft for antitrust violations after the US government found MS to be in violation in 2002.

In July, Microsoft agreed to pay $775 million to International Business Machines Corp. in a discriminatory pricing settlement. Last year, it agreed to pay Sun Microsystems Inc. $2 billion. It reached a $750 million settlement with Time Warner Inc. in 2003.
