Recomend a 775 MB with DDR1066 support

Recently i managed to acquire a E6400 and an asus p5nsli mobo just got some OCZ Reaper 2x2gb 1066 5-5-5-18 for it.
As i suspected the p5n is a complete failure for overclocking so i would like to get a new mobo to tweak it to the max.

My question is really whats a good nforce based motherboard that wont break the bank but is EXCELLENT at overclocking meaning at least capable of running >ddr1066 and >400 FSB,
with a bios that isn't missing options or has crippled voltages ect.

p45/p35 are the boards that you need to be lookin for

I'm not too fond of nforce boards. You should try an x38 board, for ex. asus maxmus formula, unless you plan on sli, in which case, you might have to get an nforce board.

A good P35 will be simpler to OC than a P45. P45's have almost every OC options of an X38/X48. If you don't need to run multiple graphics cards, get a nice P35 (maybe a DFI BloodIron).

I had a P35-T2RS and got 550FSB out of it with the stock dinky NB cooler and a fan blowing on it. I wanted SO badly to put that baby under water!

You are going to have to look into a 780i or switch to DDR3 with a 790i.

I corrected myself. That should be "you would want to look into a 780i". ^^ I have that board still she sits nice and cool with 1066 CL6 ram 2v with 1.37nb volts.

so im looking at the intel boards ive decided i don't need sli the p35 have all been pulled which leads me to this
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R
any opinions on this board vs ? as im not looking to spend more than 150 bucks

i forgot to add being compatible with win7 64 bit is a must im not buying a new os anytime soon

Again, P45 is a more complicated P35 that doesn't offer a ton of perks. P35 has been "pulled" as you say because it has been replaced by P45, but they are harder to OC. I have a P45 and I miss my P35.

If you want a great P45 board, get one of these:

But be prepared to learn. These boards are tricky to OC, but if you're willing to put in the time, then you will be rewarded

I had a P5Q-E and it handled 480 FSB easy! Well establihsed bios' since they've been out for a while and the P5Q-E isn't to bad, $140 W/$20 MIR:

I've had great luck with an Asus P5B-Deluxe P965 (I think had 1066 support in later bios update revisions), DFI LanParty P35-Dark (too many options for memory in bios though, more than are truly useful), Gigabyte P35-DS3L (one of the best cheap OC boards out there, I've used more of these in builds for OC's than any other board to date in the last year+), and finally my personal favorite thus far, my Asus P5Q-Deluxe P45. There are many good options out there, do some research on the suggested boards as all have good and bad things about them, find the one that sounds the best and fits your budget the best and you should be ok.

i recently bought myself a gigabyte EP45-DS3 and all i can say is its a very nice board, plenty of overclocking options nice simple layout and just works how i expect it to. had my FSB upto 400mhz, before the F9 bios update this board suported 1200mhz ram but now it can take 1333 and higher.

Does 500FSB fine. Won't go much higher though. I think I hit a wall at 505 but I wasnt giving it much juice either. Had my OCZ LV's at 1300MHz with this. Although again, I didn't give it much power so it didn't want to stay stable.(have a fear of frying my board so I use low voltages)

Get the UD3R you linked. OCs easily and lots of fsb head room if you choose to upgrade your cpu later.
