I was thinking of playing a good mmo game as my laptop has dial up and can't find any wifi spots on this damn island lol!! Any small mmo browser based or not... No runescape pls thx

Dunno psyko..I think you're SOL on any modern game...but there might be one out there for ya! Personally I don't know any that don't at least require a lower-end broadband connection off hand.

I don't really do browser games...or at least lately. You could search for some and give em a try...ya might find something, but things are much more broadband and graphic centric these days. Sorry dude.

dial up friendly game

try checking out Dransik. I beta tested it long ago, its a stand alone game a requires a little download, but its the most friendly dial up game that acutally has graphics. Its gotten pretty expansive since i last checked. Try www.dransik.com

Baloney. I played the original Everquest for 3 years on Dial-up. I won't say it was without frustration, but it was playable.

The hard part for him is if he has to download the entire client. That could take forever.

You may want see to if you can find someone to download a free client and mail a CD/DVD to you, or purchase a retail copy of a client, for install.

How much frustration? When I had dial up it took me 2 minutes to just get to my homepage.

Getting into the game wasn't too bad. Maybe 30 seconds until my character was standing in town. Most of the frustration was with getting dropped ... a lot. Some days were worse than others.
If they had an event were lots of people all gathered in one zone it was impossible for me to get into the zone. It would just time out.

I could play with other people in groups and it was not bad. When I got satellite I had faster downloads but the delay to get to the satellite and back was so bad it made Online play impossible.
So dial-up was better for online gaming than Satellite.

The other issue he will face is how well his rig plays the game. I was running a high-end rig (for the time) so SP games ran well and the only thing holding me back was my dial-up connection.
