As above really. Must have PCIe X 4 6+2 for expansion in the future.

I have some ideas, but would like to see what you more savvy people say is good.

EVGA Super Nova. Seen them at Walmart website 128 bucks.

Have no idea how to help in UK. Maybe visit Overclockers.UK for used sales perhaps.

US bargains are annoying, meh.

I would like some suggestions on reputable manufacturers. I was considering a MSi psu but it's platinum and is £300!

The EVGA Super Nova 1300w PSU is made by Super Flower. Neither of these brands are reputable to you, then I can't help.

Good Luck!

MSI NZXT or any other brand like it are at the bottom of my list in the never buy section lol so I’m with you.

Yes, exactly. Corsairs upper class PSUs use Seasonic most certainly.

Not sure what he needs up to 1300w for when his system specs looks like the 850w is already overkill. Just wish these guys that frequent here would know better and share much more in depth details. Shmeh

I am very cautious and scared to overstress things. 1300W should last me at least 5 years.

I don't know better! That's why I ask the REAL regulars who understand properly lol

Bro, You're for real. Great guy, always nice and chipper.

My last Antec 850w and 1kw PSUs bought in 2009 lasted me till 2024. That EVGA has a 10 year warranty, most of the high class PSUs do, last past the warranty. You can't even abuse this PSU without a minimum of 3 290X GPUs in crossfire running TimeSpy Or something lol. That's massive amount of wattage.

Your Current PSU is made by Channel Well Technology (CWT) and is considered a reliable brand as far as any quick research goes. Your PSU has a 10 years warranty.......

Found this a few days ago but a review said there was something off about the 5V rail or something

That's a great PSU. Gotta take reviews with salts. Something off with the 5v rail, unless I SEE he posted a picture of a multi-meter proving this comment, then it's probably bullshit or there's a 2% failure rate like most electronic hardware. (give or take).

Maybe get an ATX 3.1 model while you're at it.
I intend to get one with that STUPID torch of a cable...

It was a review linked by TechPowerUp so I just believe it is factual. Curse being autistic.

1 review this means nothing. Find hundreds to thousands with the same issue. Report back.

This would only be a 5% actual failure rate worry while using 4090 and 5090 GPUs. There has been no reports that Im aware of on any other GPU of smaller size.

Do you plan to run a pair of 5090s or something?

Yeah, I see what you mean.

No Nvidia here, but maybe a 9090XTRSR

Which one? The G2 is Super Flower, P+ is FSP, GT is HEC,
Yes, exactly. Corsairs upper class PSUs use Seasonic most certainly.
Lmao. It's 2025, not 2010 when AX was upper class Seasonic Prime Titanium rebrand. Now Corsair OEM is Flextronics for AX1600i, CWT for HXi/RMx/RMx Shift, HEC for RMe and Great Wall for SF/SF-L

Yeah, I see what you mean.

Your 850 watter will handle this GPU without issues. You have no need for a larger PSU. Save your money, use up the current 10 years warranty you already sitting on.

Thank you for the guidance. I shall do that.

The point was reputable brands. FSP is reputable, Super Flower is reputable and Manufacturers simply rename the PSU. That's what I was really trying to say. I'm sorry you missed that part??

He wants a PSU he will never need. Can use the current PSU and he's going to be just fine. Even with a 9090XT with a supposed 450w load.

Thank you for the guidance. I shall do that.
Yeah, not a bad idea. 850w is hard to exceed. 7800X3D is very power efficient. + 9090XT maybe a total of 600w pulled including all the rest of the hardware?? Guestimates!!!!

Well, as the old saying goes: "it's betta to have it & not need it, then to need it & not have it"......within reason of course....but who are we to say what any person may want or need at any particular time or in any given circumstance....

And like CPT Kirk frequently told his engineer: "Scotty, we NEEDZ MOAR POWAH !", hahahaha :D

I think that whilst having a piss. That and someone got my share...o_O

Uhm it's good to have ample headroom as that gives you future upgrade options but going totally overkill is not ideal. And just because it has more watts doesn't mean the components inside are longer lasting.
Also you got a good rig there, should keep you happy for several years.
No Nvidia here, but maybe a 9090XTRSR
As a sidenote if you are planning to get a flagship GPU in let's say 2027-2028 (or perhaps further into the future), you have to consider that currently the 9800X3D is slightly bottlenecking the 5090 in some cases (@06:28). So if you are getting something with similar or greater performance your 7800X3D will be a bit more limiting and thus a platform change would be required if you want to chase every fps that the new GPU can offer.
In this scenario however a future GPU that matches or exceeds the performance of the 5090 will consume less power and thus would not require a PSU with more than 1000W.
Similarly I would not expect a successor to the 9800X3D to consume more power (I mean it could but people wouldn't be happy about that).

So if futureproofing is your goal I would argue that going with a big wattage PSU is not necessarily the best option. Imagine how you'll feel if you buy a big PSU now and after a few years you get a major upgrade only to realize that your current PSU could have handled the new rig. Wasted money, my advice would be to save everything for the future and if the new rig demands a new PSU then you get it.

The Leadex III platform is weaker than Leadex VII, but still a good value option.
See below:
The Leadex VII 1300W is a very good one.
