Just bought an ASUS A8N32 SLi Deluxe motherboard and in the market for getting a 8800GT, just don't know which is the most reliable.
I know even the best manufacturers get GPU's wrong from time to time so I would like comments from 8800GT owners to tell me what brands they are using and how they are going, good and bad.

I'm not looking for the fastest out, just the most realiable.

I have my eyes on a stock Gigabyte 8800GT or a Turbo version with the zalman fan, but only because my last nVidia card was made by them and it ran nicely.

Inno3D 8800GT OC Edition.
Expensive, but running nicely.

Its the second highest stock clocked 8800 on the market (after the MSI 8800GT). Unless something better has come out since I bought it lol.

Unless you are set on the gt, this might be something to look at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130325

Thats a hell of a lot cheaper than when I got it, and w/ the mail in rebate it is priced near the gt. It has been rock solid for me so far, and if it ever decides to go south, evga's lifetime warrenty picks up the slack. Plus step-up.

Sorry if you just want a gt, I just thought this was a damn good deal.:D

I always recommend the EVGA cards. I like those the best... the non-oc version is fine.

I think EVGA, BFG and XFX has lifetime warranty and good customer service. Try MSI too.

you're in New Zealand,i would imagine the choices are limited? What can you buy?If you can get a MSI or a Zotac from China you're good to go. Galaxy and Palit are decent too. And as above posters have mentioned, XFX and Evga and BFG are all awsome, but they are mostly in NA and European markets...

yeah, in aus you can find 8800GT's for the same price as a 3870, which is good considering the GT whips the 3870, and the margin increases with AA+AF

really any brand should be fine as long as the price is right.

I'm pleased with my BFG OC2. I bought it factory oc'd so that in the event that it turns out to be a bad overclocking card I'd still have the factory oc.

As you can see from my system specs, it didn't turn out to be a bad overclocker... and it gives me 12,782 in 3DMark06 :D

Yes the New Zealand market is limited.

The options for me are :-
XFX 8800GT 512mb stock, OC'd, Zalman stock or OC'd
Gigabyte 8800GT 512mb Zalman Durable 2 which has the highest OC.
ASUS 8800GT OC'd.

No 1GB available here.

eVGA, best customer support in the business.

They aren't better than Palit, just different. Our average response time to emails is less than five minutes and when things get more complicated than is convenient to type into an email I pick up the phone and call the customer.

We have yet to take more than 24 hours to ship out a replacement card. I have had a couple issues with stock availability (all replacement cards are brand new) between the 512MB and the 1GB (we were out of stock on the 512MB for about three days) so I upgraded two people to the 1GB version so they wouldn't have to wait to get their card back.

Of course we realize that we need to do better than email so we're building a new system. It will include 800# support and fully automated RMA processing which will include options for overnight shipping and advance replacement. The goal is to allow people to be back up and running the next day if they want it.

Means the palit is unavailable in your area id have to toss a coin over the Asus and gigabyte, But If i was you id check out both company's RMA service and how easy it would be to implement an RMA from were you are I.E postage, phone support or just email support and warranty period, even though both manufactures are good quality producers it never hurts to check it out to aid your decision.

Something else to consider...Palit is "Here":rockout:(answering ur questions and improving service right in front of you), EVGA,XFX and the others arent.

Palit is split up into geographical regions so I can only speak for the US and Canada.

The new system we're rolling out is the equivalent of holding a gun to the RMA "head" of the BFGs and the XFXs and my finger is on the trigger. Consumers have high expectations when it comes to getting a failed card replaced. To make matters worse they are already pissed off because they aren't playing CoD4 or getting owned by me in QW:ET.

Our goal is to exceed those expectations and make the whole deal as easy and fast as possible.
