Recommended tablet?

what is your recommendation of tablet that has spec:
OS android 2.2 or newer
capacitive touchscreen
and the price is friendly to wallet too

I'd take the Asus over the Galaxy, personally.

Nook Color also makes a great android tablet if you want smaller.

If you were based in the US, I'd suggest you check the Nook Color. It's a reader that can easily be flashed into a full-fledged teblet for ~250$. You can even OC the CPU to 1GHz and install Honeycomb if you have the patience

I was trying to get my hands on one of those but couldn't find any here and went for a kindle instead. In the end I decided that I just need a reader and the kindle is adequate.

I'm having a sniff at them too, and if I had to buy now I'd only really consider the Asus EeePad Transformer or the Motorola Xoom - they're both essentially identical and run Honeycomb. I'd probably lean towards the Asus because of the flexibility of it's docking-keyboard.

But in the end I'll probably be waiting for more 3.0 models to be released, and also waiting for Andriod's OS and interface to mature for tablets a bit more.

my overall recommendation is to wait if you can. Smartphones and tablets are operating on a faster-than-Moore's Law curve. As a result you'll see huge performance improvements every 12 months and devastatingly painful upgrade cycles. Given that tablets aren't carrier subsidized, the longer you can wait, the better off you'll be.

You spend top dollar now on a tablet and it's out of date in no time. It's not like the PC - my 2+ year old i7 920 still cuts the mustard.

yeah thats why i prefer buy mid range tablet since the technology is changing pretty fast
android 3 is pretty promising and more mature too so it could more stable, more features, more efficient. fewer bugs

windows is nice but i meet too much windows : my pc, my notebook, in my office, in my friend house, advertisement
for tablet i want something new. android is pretty interesting and promising

You want to want to cheap out, look up the Vega by Advent ( the uni it self is sold by a few brands)

Android 2.2, Tegra 2,512mb ram.

Most of them overclock to 1.5 and there's a lot of REALLY good roms for it ( honeycomb is being ported by the folks over at XDA)

Weak points are.

Viewing angles, not best tablet for shared use.
Only dual touch screen not multi touch.

The Transformer has been getting a lot of good feedback from what I've seen.

(There's also the Slider, by Asus, due out soon - Aug I think? - which is pretty much the same bar battery issues and the fact that it has a slide-out, not detachable/dock keyboard, which may be more convenient for some).

The trouble is you can go more budget oriented - it depends exactly what you mean by wallet friendly - but what you get isn't likely to be all that good and relatively speaking imho it's worth pushing that extra hundred quid or a bit more to get something that'll last.

For eg one of the better budget friendly Froyo tablets I've seen is the HANNSpad, although it has a lot of shortcomings (listed in this review, although the reviewer does admit it's a decent entry-level slate).
