Recording software advice

Hey guys, I have been looking around for a good, free or even 'payed' recording program that i could use to record World of Warcraft. Since i run crossfire, i'd preferably like to be able to record full screen. What program would you recommend? I've tried fraps but it bugs out every time i open it. Thanks.

If you want the best quality go for fraps, although you'll need to edit the videos because you get massive output video files. Its lossless.
But before you buy fraps, I recommend trying the trial first.

or you could go the external approach, and using the happauge HDTV recorder ... it is expensive 200 dollars for the box...and need component outputs, (but i think there is a HDMI version)... it records via USB with mpeg2/avc/mp4... mine will do at max bitrate 13.5 Mbps. While it is not lossless, for WOW should be just-what-you-need.

Geforce shadow play is another option... (besides FRAPS, or EVGA PrecisionX 4.1.2 and others)
BTW editting mpeg4/avc files is a real pain because their are very few lossless editors (much less free) for MP4/avc. for the hauppauge hdpvr files i use smartcutter. (yes the price is a bit steep 40 dollars)
i have not checked recent (free or pay) video edittors for lossless editting capabilites so their may be a few out there (now) after 2-3 years

I would recommend that your game files and video capture files be on separate drives and I also recommend that you use a very fast drive for the video capture drive.....I have found that seems to help the most with software like FRAPS...Good luck!
