Red Alert 3 Beta Program

I've enjoyed C&C since the original release...so I've followed Red Alert and Tiberian/um series since then...they pioneered RTS games for me, like Doom, Duke Nukem and Quake for FPS.

I am not at home so I have yet to try the new RA3 beta, but I enjoyed C&C3, and KW, along with Sins of a Solar Empire, Supreme Commander and others...C&C3 was the one for more instant action and fun, the others were for a more time consuming grind, at least for me.

I don't know what I can and can't report about the beta, and I will look into that and post what is fair within proper guidelines, I will ask now that no bickering or trashing of this thread is done...if you don't like the game or any C&C game don't waste your time or reading space posting it as not posting is good enough, this thread if for supporters and other members and enthusiasts of the game and genre. I will be home tomorrow and will report back with at least a response in how I feel about the new beta.

i find it hard to believe they would give out tens of thousands of keys publicly to whomever bought the kane's wrath expansion and would expect noone to talk about their experience.

besides, i can only answer questions about general gameplay, which is already publicly available on many websites.

Even public BETAs tend to have NDA's in which you can only talk about that which is publicly available, but I'd just double check firstly, that you have signed one, and second, exactly what it is you can and can not say.

Every BETA I've been in (which is rather a lot) has had an NDA in which I couldn't even tell a single soul I was in the BETA until after it was released. The only way to talk to other people about it was through "secure methods, set up by the host company" IE their own forums.

I'd just check instead of making assumptions, don't want to get in trouble and lose your spot and all future opportunities.

yea same kinda rules i had with Vista Beta, till the Public Beta 2 release, i could talk about what was known, but i wasn't allowed to talk about anything that wasn't on the approved list or mention i had a download link on the MSDN site for the newest builds. Beta's suck like that, you get all the fun but can't tell anyone, whats the point of a secret if you can't tell

I dig the game so far, the graphics are pretty good, the gameplay is fun as ever, the style of the game works quite well and I dig the menu music. RA3 looks very damn promising imo.

The CnC series isn't for everyone...like it or leave it goes for just about any game out there really...eventually a game I ignore or immediately decide to dislike I'll at least try. I like the C&C series for the fun and faster pace factor, plus I've always been a fan of C&C so I am always excited for the next release...but I love RTS games, or at least most of them...to each their own.

I really think this is going to be quite an entertaining release.

I wasn't really impressed with RA3 Beta either, but this is also the first time I've played a RA game.

Well me and my best friend both have the beta, we pretty much just play each other that way neither of us gets completely raped.
I liked the game though, he didn't.
I would post a screenie for you guys who don't have the beta, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed.

Been a big fan of the CNC and RA series. However since EA has taken over their games haven't been as good. CNC3:KW was/is a disaster...I still play it and rank fairly well in the ladder, top 1000. However it took well over 3 months to get a balance patch out, this patch BTW was needed so bad for Desynchs, Disconnects, and balance issues. There still needs to be at least 1 more patch to balance out the rest.

I pretty much wrote off RA3 until EA can fix CNC3:KW...The RA3 Beta/Demo came with a early purchase of KW. So I will not be playing RA3 until at least the first patch has been issued...and only then after reading forums and seeing what the user base thinks. I mean how can EA expect me to suppor the same type of RTS style game and yet not even support the CNC3 series...Epic Fail IMO. I basically expect the same to happen with RA3. Thanks EA for ruining a great game series.
