well, it's only fifty bucks, and since it's a refurb, i probably wouldn't put it in my main rig, but i'd definitely put it in a secondary, say, one hooked up to the tv for big screen gaming. So if it died, i wouldn't be too sore about it.

I have one of these PSU's, but I bought it new. So far it's been solid, hopefully it continues to be.

90 day warranty, if it's faulty It will go within that time, if not, the likelyhood is you got a good deal and it should last a while at least.

If that 90-Day warranty is handled by BFG, then it has no warranty.

But yeah, if I had the cash laying around I think I'd pick one up, even if it was just to keep around as a spare PSU.

It is definitely a quality PSU, it is just a shame BFG went under.

I agree with Tatty.

BFG was a good brand from what I remember, real shame.

I cant speak for the US but in the UK, under most circumstances, the first 90 days (sometimes just 30 days dependant on item) is covered by retailer, thereafter it has to be returned to manufacturer.

In the US, it is up to the retailer to set their policy. For example, newegg is 30 days, after that you have to take it up with the manufacturer.

With geeks, it seems they are also 30 days, but on the product page it says "Supported By: Geeks" which to me means the 90 day warranty would be handled by them, so all is good.

The 90 days is handled by Geeks.

Technically, these aren't really "refurbs". They're either tested good returns (buyer's remorse?) or units with cosmetic damage (damn painted steel surfaces!), so if the PSU isn't DOA, odds are it's going to work for a pretty long time.

My BFG was purchased about 2 years ago or more, I can't remember. It was a 'Scratch and Dent" sale where the pallet supposedly flipped. I bought it, did not see even a scratch on the box..... and the psu is still working solid. I would say it is a good deal if they are tested here in the US, vs. someplace in China.

I ordered one but it won't be here in the Caribbean till next week. The deal was too good to pass up, hopefully the gamble does not burn me. It will go well with the GTS 250 1GB I just brought back from the dead (the baking worked!) and a 780i board I got for my backup system. Or maybe I'll put it in my main rig. Will post on the state of it and my experience when it gets here. Maybe there are some more out there and the deal would be back...
