I think it did get a "sort of" remaster a few years ago, never could complete that game, smashed an Amiga A500+ trying to....
I goggled the game just after my post and realized in a wiki page there was something released years later than could run at increased resolutions. I'm gonna look into that further. I meant to actually say remaster in my first post too instead of remake....but why I mention that is because I think I want to see a even more modern take on the game besides just running everything at about twice the original resolution.
Reading this more, NOW I realize why I never knew about these remasters, or didn't really register on my radar. The remasters are titled Another World instead of Out of this World, which was the title I knew it by. So I see a version on steam I could easily get. Very cool! But of course I was wanting more, I was hoping for like a 2.5D platformer kind of presentation to be adapted where you could switch it on/off like some HD remaster titles are doing now-a-days. Something that would make it look like a game that was designed for modern systems but maintained all the same gameplay as the original. This remaster is still cool but esentially is the bare bones of an HD remaster, just rendered everything at higher resolutions. But at least it looks nice and crisp. I'll research a bit more to see how owners of modern systems like it, as in does it support anything over say 1080p or even have options for 16:9 ratios etc before I pull the trigger
But either way thanks for pointing it out. I might have even stumbled onto that remaster a year or two ago but obviously completely forgot about it if I did lol
There are some rage quitting hard parts to the game lol. I remember having a paper back code book as a kid, (I'm guessing you remember those days before the internet too if you know this game), like 3" or 4" thick kind of book, that was cheat codes for Genesis, SNES, NES, etc, and I deff used level passwords to skip the hardest spot(s) I couldn't figure out. I have beat it countless times without cheats, but I want to say I NEEDED them as a kid on the first play through
