Not sure if anyone has seen this or not, shadow tech is a company which seem to offer their own version of Nvidia Now (but actually providing a full Win10 VM where you can install any software on.

Personally I am not sold by the idea due to potential latency issues, although I travel for work a lot and would love a gaming system while I am away they claim

"All your games on max settings, forever"

Yet only offering a 1080 equivalent GPU they would fall well short of this mark on a 4K monitor at anywhere close to 60fps on something new like AC Odyssey.

Anyone on here tried it or considered it? at almost £30 a month, it seems steep too.

Nope, not considering either. You can sub all these services and the bottom line is you might as well have owned the content by buying it. And this price is far too steep, no matter how good the service is. 30 quid... you can get your whole internet line for that.

This one isn't even subbing the games, you have to buy your software/licenses on top. I agree, £30, (well 26.99) is very steep too.

They claim a VM with the following specs.

GPU
NVIDIA GTX 1080 equivalent

CPU
XEON 8 dedicated threads

Memory
12GB DDR4

Storage 256GB (up to 1.25TB)

Included Fiber Connection
1Gbps down (100Mbps up)

They claim anything with 15Mb/s + will allow for full 4K Connection (which I don't get as being enough for lag free 4K)

I think in the near future when fiber link is common and latency is <5-10ms we will buy "Virtual PC" with customisable configurations from streaming service companies and more or less that will be death of classic desktop and we will have only monitor+keyb+mouse connected to wall, but when will this happen i presume in 20-30 years maybe?

Maybe for video only but dynamic data from games at 4K it wont be enough.

There was a Thing called Sega Channel in the day.

I highly doubt this will catch on...

This is like the 60s-early 90s all over again.

@eidairaman1 I'm with you, I think it is ridiculously priced, When I questioned every game on ultra they claimed it was absolutely possible and their technology allows it.

ME: I'd be curious.... It claims max settings always. So you're saying I could play AC Odyssey on my 4k monitor at 144hz on ultra and keep a 144hz frame rate?
THEM: Indeed! As long as your screen/resolution can handle 4K
ME: Can you provide any benchmarks, I'm confused a single 1080 GPU can handle 4K ultra at 144hz
THEM: We don't have any benchmarks to share but we can assure you it's possible.

Since they claim no benchmarks are available I'd be half tempted to subscribe for a month and give it a try to "bench" it, but we know it'll be shit. I'd also monitor how much bandwidth it's using.

Sounds like a scam if you ask me.
