Fujipoly Ultra Extreme thermal pads are supposed to be very good and might be less expensive than Thermal Grizly. You might need more than 1 thickness of pad too. Measure all of them, as some might be 1.0mm & others might be 1.5mm.

If you have gone with Thermal grizly kryonaut extreme, why not go with pads:

https://www.thermal-grizzly.com/en/products/516-minus-pad-extreme-en
didt had pads at hands. first i wanted to repaste the gpu package cus of thermal throteling.. after i done that. now im noticingthat the VRM's are 98c... some arent even touching the vrm's...

I think you would have been fine using less paste

View attachment 252341
trust me i needed this allot any les it wouldt boot or overheat straight away... even after googling several forums all in the end allot of thermal paste.. or straight with liqeud metal...

Or thermal pad in the wrong place is getting in the way of adequate clamping, literally only the parts EK or whoever, says should have pads and no where else should pad be fitted , EK use 0.5 and 1mm thick pads and obviously if applied the wrong way around with 1mm on a 0.5 spot you can have partial contact with other areas of the cooler, for reference my GPU loaded Never gets above 46°C and the vrms never above 70, sounds like you're pads are dead or put on wrong causing poor clamping pressure on the GPU die hence requiring too much Tim.

This. Thermal paste is meant to be used sparingly.

@Morgoth You used too much. However, that's not going to hurt anything. When you secured the heatsink to the card, all the excess got squished out the sides of the GPU die. It'll be messy with you want to change it out next(if?), but otherwise no harm done. The TIM you used in the photos is excellent! Carry on.

Is it a EK or other Water lock, how long was it in system and working fine, did you fit the right pad width to the right part.

waterblock is *A-XF56-NANO-X* not sure what brand it is but i got it from aliexpres.. there werent any others avaible
pads that came with it is some unknow brand that i dont know of just generic stuff comes with it
hell even half the screws that came with it didt fit so i bought my own screws and reused screws from the air cooler...

i got it almost a year now. it just recently that it started to act up. had a HOTSPOT temp issue was hard to fight with now my Voltage regulators are high up..
i even readed some where that the hotspot temp is not even a real sensor

Well, If you don't already have thermal grizzly pads, you could try Thermalright one enjoy thermal pads (saw a lot of miners using this one).
I guess, it shouldn't be a problem, try some K5-PRO.

Whatever pads you go for make sure it's not conductive when replacing pads across the MOSFETS, you don't want to short that out. I use Fujipoly on my Vega Nano 17W m/k.

Never heard of the ones you posted until today. Need to read PDF Docs on this (if any).

EDIT: Where is main company website? ....EDIT Found it, sorry I don't trust what they are saying.

The pads the manufactures use on graphics cards tend to be high quality, I wouldn't bother changing them unless they have become damaged.

Igorlabs is a good source for useful info. However, they're not always right on everything. That much TIM is just not needed.
He has the unlevel gpu die.

Too much tim just makes a mess, as long as it's not a liquid metal, conductonaut or arctic silver, he will be fine. A firm motion down with little twists helps

Not really. 40um is very small and it takes very little TIM to fill that kind of space. I have repasted many Vega GPU's and have never used as much TIM as you applied. However, the excess will not hurt anything. You just used more than you really needed to, that's all. No worries mate.
