Replace gtx 670 with gtx 1070

Can I replace my gtx 670 for a gtx 1070 directly onto an Asus LGA 1155/Socket H2 socket motherboard? Any help would be much appreciated.

Just uninstall the current drivers, shut down the PC, swap the cards(make sure your PSU has the correct connections) start up and reinstall drivers.

Well as long as your PSU is of decenot quality and has the proper cables it’s just a simple swap.

This, it's really that simple. The 670 and 1070 have similar wattage specs, so as long as the connectors match up, you are good to go!

Should be as simple as everyone else is stating. I basically did the same going from a GTX 760 to a 1070 Ti. Just to be sure, what power supply are you using?

Changing Nvidia to Nvidia doesn't require reinstalling drivers in my experience... I ran a 670, 690, and 1070Ti on the same install without any problems.

Just swap the cards and you should be good to go.

It’s just the smart way to do it so device IDs get removed and replaced for example. Of course it will “just work” but it takes no time to do it “clean”

In some configurations, glitches and bugs can surface. While a direct swap might work most of the time, it's best to download the latest drivers, uninstall the old drivers and fresh install the new ones.

It depends, if the cards share the same driver set it should be fine. Basically Kepler is dx12_fl12 while Pascal is dx12_fl12.2 so I wouldn't worry but if it was Fermi I would.

armageddon voltron powerlog 300fx 600watt 80+ bronzen, can handle gtx260+/56/rx480/980/1080ti all is power hungry, problems? guess not, depending how long it can run, anyway i usually just tested no longer than an hour
for a safetly use while gaming, i used my main psu bequite 500watt
