I added a CoolerMaster Hyper N520 to my HTPC (see specs), primarily for noise reduction from the stock i7 960.
The ambient temp is about 20 degrees C, and I am attaching my realtemp calibrations.
In General, the cores range from 46-50 a idle, and 85-89 under load, where load is 95%+ CPU running Handbrake.
The following in order will be two real temp calibrations, then a shot of the system after 8 hours of Handbrake, followed by a summary of the realtemp stats by core average over those 8 hours.
Easy to see CPU-0 gets most load/most heat, and may need calibraion, CPU-3 least heat-load.
I remounted the cooler before running the tests, seems like I have an appropriate amount of thermal material, i.e. no meal on metal, but not too much paste.
Questions are, does the idle temp seem high?
Does the load temp seem OK?
Should I make any max/idle calibration changes, or just leave it as is?
Thanks in advance
