...particularly if you own a model that clocks at 1340 MHZ max by default.

I'm wondering if anyone could screenshot their DEFAULT wattman settings that show the voltage and clock settings at each state. I'm a RX480 owner and am just interested in attempting to mirror those settings exactly.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Are you prepared to brick the card?

Pointers.

Do this on own risk, verify if your card has a dual bios switch.

Thank you.

I did read someone doing this.... I'm not going to try it though. I was very lucky when I bought this card. The GPU is a lottery winner for sure. I won't risk bricking it.

It's not a big deal I suppose... But if someone can make that screenshot happen I'd really appreciate it. I already know I can do the 1340 mhz ... I am just really curious about how a reference 580 is stepped.

When the 480 was reviewed wattman was new so those screenshots were plentiful. The 580 reviews I've seen don't have that data though.

Just want the default clocks and voltages for each step.

Thanks everyone.

I have a Strix 580 Gaming TOP OC, which goes to 1411 by default.

So then your not trying to bios flash then, you want to see a 580 Wattman screenshot so you can mirror that into Wattman for your 480.

I sold all my Polaris cards but Adored did do a review where he showed Wattman here at about the 10min mark on a 580 Gaming X

Might get close but I don't think you can reduce the voltage of any state on 480 cards under 800mv(thats state 0's voltage) whereas the 580's will drop to 750mv.

Best of luck.

What's your stock voltage? Can it run at stock at the said clocks?

Sorry should've read the entire thread.. I figured you wanted the low power states voltage.. this will be interesting.

Thanks everyone!

I'll look into that video and see what I can put together for results today.

Right off the bat I wasn't aware 580s wider range of voltage.... Good to know.

Wow - I guess everyone uses 1150mV for the last 4 power states... didn't expect to see that. Those voltages seem bonkers to me...

I think I'll change my plan. But it gives me a good "high bar" for voltage that I wasn't absolutely sure about before.

Thanks again everybody.

I curious how far I could go under voltage without pushing the GPU clock to far back.

I arrived at this combination.

Wonder why there's a higher voltage at a lower clock? These defaults are really strange to me. I ended up landing at 1340mhz @1130mV. I may drop voltage more and test. I could go a little higher but temps are easy to keep under 80 degrees at that particular speed. 3200rpm is my noise limit. Just not a good enough cooler to go higher.

I was able to pull off clocking the GPU @ 1344 MHz with 1105 mV. Thinking of moving back to 1344 MHz but the fans either don't spin or it's nice, and quiet with the lower clockspeed/voltage. Still able to max out Prey with vsync @ 72 FPS of course the GPU is only rendering to 1080P resolution.

I was wondering that myself..
