Built this system about two months ago and I've finally settled on final OC settings.

I'm considering another RX240; which requires a significant modifcation to the top of my Lian-Li case. Giving me a total of 5x120 radiator space.

Is there a way to calculate how significant a tempurature drop I would get by adding another 240 radiator?

Also, would 5x120 radiator space be enough if I were to add a second OC'ed GTX 480 to the loop?

System Build

Maximum Load Temps P95+Furmark 15 minutes @ 22.2C ambient.

Maybe I'm silly, but those look like some very respectable temperatures already:confused:

Ya, I think I've heard of that somewhere. I was under the impression that lowering the operating temperatures improves the maximum lifespan on electrical devices. With a reasonble Vcore PLL and such of course.

I'd like to keep the processor for five years or longer.

um the cpu will still operate for years to come at higher cvores etc just fine by the time your cpu degrades you will be on a brand new platform regardless as it will be long after the chips obsolete garbage example P4s today i got a few friends running old boxes with 4ghz+ P4s with high vcore machines have gone 5 years that way still work just fine

I would spend my money elsewhere, your temps are admirable, I would look into an SSD to boot on, or at least some SLI action before you need more cooling;)

Crazyeyes that's impressive, wasn't aware how tough the CPUs are. Been paranoid about putting a hole in the CPU and socket.

Sneeky, I read a lot of threads saying people looking at i7+GTX 480 should consider 480x120 radiators. I went RX120+RX240 to avoid a major mod to my case.

Glad the temps are good, are you saying I shoot for the second GTX 480 with the existing loop?

Waiting on fourth SSD generation maybe 5th. Might cave in and buy one tomorrow anyways...

point was if you are happy get something else with your money. If you plan to do SLI or OC for the stars on the CPU, then maybe the extra rad would help. As it sits I dont think you will get a major drop in temps. I could be way off here too, so you may want to wait for other perspectives.

My loop is in the specs along with what I cool. you're a touch higher on the GPU (expected) but your CPU is cooler than mine.

Wow, those are some amazing results. When I get the time I will contribute by swapping between the RX120 and RX240 radiators. Although, I'll only be able to test a CPU+GPU loop.

Planning on reducing the amount of tubing, dropping the 120 would really help make it look cleaner.

temps look great, u can always add another rad if sli action gets hot, like they mentioned u got lot of headroom

Edit: running prime i get my i7@4ghz around 68-71c, lotta headroom 4 u
