As my new rig is completely built yet my existing 3570K still work well.
CPU=Core i5-3570K
MOBO = Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe
RAM = Corsair Dominator 2x 4GB
PSU = Corsair TX 750W
COOLER = H60 AIO

Is it worth getting a new graphics card and a new mini case to revamp it? Or no graphics card just use the HD400 for some casual gaming?

still worth, what casual gaming?
if you expect something better like resolution and image processing in game a graphic card is a must

Well, Age of Empire II, have you heard of it? I runs a bit laggy though.
I am thinking used card. The system is 6 years old now. Getting a used card matches its status anyhow.

Newegg or Amazon is better?
Do you know of any mini case?

Is it worth getting a new... ...to revamp it?
Not if it will not be used. What did you build the new computer for? To sit unused while you use the old computer?

If the old computer will be used on a regular basis, perhaps by another person, then, IMO, it probably would be worth putting some money in it to get it going. How much depends on the actual requirements that computer will need to meet.

Why would you need a new case? Except for obsolete ports (like front panel USB 2.0 ports instead of USB 3.x), cases don't really become obsolete or worn out. And in that event, there will still be the rear ports. If you used the old case on your new build, then if me, I would buy a new case for the new build and put the old case back with old stuff.

Add more ram, an ssd and a new GPU. Maybe something around the level of a 1050ti or higher.

A 1050ti does okay for games like rocket league too

You don't mention what the existing graphics card is ? (CPU onboard graphics hd400 ).
A SSD and more Ram + some overclock on cpu (if your capable Said politly as some people are not happy overclocking)).
That will give your system more legs while you look for a decent graphics card.

Again, depends on what the machine will be used for. It could make a fine media server or something... you won't need a graphics card for that.

Honestly, I am pretty much running the same thing as you are, I have my settings in my sig. I am still fairly content with mine, it does everything I need it to. A little more vram and system ram would be nice. Maybe some SSDs to replace my spinners. Sure newer is better and if you need to spend the money go for it. But if it still does what you need it to, upgrade other things first, like for me, I plan on getting a GPU, then some SSDs, and finally move into a new platform. I don't know who I would buy yet with new intels rolling out soon. I just game at 1080p when I can game, since I share my steam account with my 7 year old son :rolleyes:

It's just we are retrospective. I guess that is because old stuffs tend to have more qualities than new ones. No offence, just stating out the facts.
Had it not because the motherboard is a bit unstable like the anti-surge, USB, sticky response overall in Windows...I wouldn't have built a new machine so urgently. I would have waited for 10 gen to come out next year.

The Intel HD 400 is pretty good actually, I can play Civilization 6 under the strategic mode without the graphics hungry mode, it runs flawlessly and less hot actually. May be some adventure point and click games also.

I saw many mini cases out there. All I need is to get a new yet cheap SF PSU 450W is all I need. It's not wise to put more money into it because anytime, the board might go out of wack. I may also clean up the "dust hills" inside the case. I regret I never did maintenance to it over all these years. And the bitfenix case afterall is not that good in keeping dusts out.

I can also get a cheap used GPU. But mini case can be risky cause it can't hardly accommodate the H60 I have.

Just need efforts to research again....

If you're using your PC in a dusty environment no case will good enough. I have to clean out front filter on a biweekly basis and fine dusty still gets through it and the tiny gaps around it.

That's why I didn't want to invest too much in the case. But having bought the MB511 and the Z390-F all these high-mid-range parts, I really need to make cleaning a monthly maintenance task. Biweekly is too tedious.

After much struggle, as I hate cleaning things, at this festive season, I have completed cleaning this old rig. To my greatest amazement, and for the information of other enthusiasts out there if you are in the same situation, cleaning the old rig removing all the dust on the motherboard, between RAM sockets, those tiny marrow corridors, and most importantly, clean your radiator with a strong water shower help tremendously. Now my system looks like new (or well.. at least looks much much clean and neat). And guess what when I use the stress test of CPUZ

I ran the stress test for 45 minutes, overclock the CPU to 4.2GHz as I am writing this, the whirring sound of the radiator's fan definitely increased as expected, and the temperature stunned me: it was at max only 64C (Core #2). I deeply the dust between the fins of the radiator before cleaning contributed to the poor thermals. Now I can feel the air blown through the radiator's fins by the EK-Furious Vardar FF5-120 fan; my first generation Corsair Hydro series H60 doesn't come with any fan.

I am proud to present my refurbished 4.2GHz rig:

CPU= Intel Core i5-3570K
MOBO = Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe (iTX form factor)
GPU = Intel HD 4000 (Onboard graphics chip)
PSU = Corsair TX 750
STORAGE = Intel 520 Series 180GB SDD
CASE = Bitfenix Prodigy Black color (top handle broken)
WINDOWS = Windows 10 build 18363.476

So for those who have an old system, clean it up, especially the dust on the motherboard and if you have a radiator/fan combo, clean the radiator with shower and remember to wrap up the pump with plastic bag or wrap before watering it.

Happy Thanks giving!

Positive pressure will solve that. Filter the intakes and make sure there is 3 x as many intakes. No dust on parts

It's not a gad PC. I would rate it 3,6 - not great, not terrible.
If you add decent graphics card like R9 270X, R9 380 (XFX, Asus, MSI, Sapphire, Powercolor...), GTX 770 (Palit, Asus, MSI, Gainward...) or similar it would be a lot better. Most of these GPU's are selling for under 80€, some as low as 40€ in the EU.

I still have a little bit of money left after building the 9600K rig.

If I have to choose the following 3 parts
1) Graphics card
2) Case
3) PSU (because it depends on the case)

I am prioritizing them as follows:

A) Case + PSU (if SFX is needed)
B) Graphics card.

It is an ITX motherboard, and I already have a H60 which still works very well as the temperature indicates, a bit impressed by Corsair's workmanship actually, hats off to you Corsair!
Could anyone suggest a case for me? THANKS!
