I'm trying to read the review below but it seems to be available only to gold supporters. When will it be available to the general public?

Wow I didn't realize they started doing this. LOL well this is a massive oversight on TPU's part. This business model is the same failing one that newspapers are tying to do. Which guess what, most people will just take the exact title name and go to a different site.... https://www.kitguru.net/components/...am-rgb-ddr4-3600mhz-16gb-2x8gb-memory-review/ and now TPU misses out on web traffic and ad revenue in hopes that subscriptions on patreon will offset the loss of traffic.

Not the review he is looking for ;)

To @ZenZimZaliben and @cucker tarlson not all sites get the same products on the same date, so obviously some sites will have reviews others do not at any given time. Even with NDA gear, not everyone sees it at that time.

To the OP. Do some basic math. The review is eighth on the list as to when it was added to the Patreon section, and TPU seems to release a review once a day on business days. Should be pretty easy to get when it may release, unless it has special priority, which I have no idea, it may be sooner.

@W1zzard might you have a definitive answer for the OP?

Oh you are correct...How about this one. It's like you issued me a challenge to look for it. So okay. https://www.eteknix.com/thermaltake-toughram-rgb-4600mhz-ddr4-memory-review/

My point still stands. To the OP - use a search engine. Yes TPU's will be more exhaustive but if you want an answer fast and avoid a arbitrary pay wall then there's your answer.

Maybe he does not want to go elsewhere. I was simply pointing the obvious. Also, to add, the link you dropped tests on Intel only.....pretty sure TPU tests for both camps.
I guess, why not answer the OP instead of sending him off-site? This is why I tagged W1zz, as he is one of maybe three people at TPU who can actually answer the OPs question.

I said TPU will be more exhaustive and I am sure it will be. But if OP wanted a review on those and can't get it here there are other solutions even if they aren't as thorough. Free is nice.

Without a date i have to come to the website every single day to check if it's available or not. That's not very correct on there part. I understand they need supporters but even so...

These reviews are early access, while they are in the queue waiting for proofreading, and until there's a slot to post them. Previously they were invisible. We're not in the business of taking content away from you guys, even if you don't want to support us.

I try to post two reviews per day, spread reviews in the same category apart by roughly one week, exception is high-profile reviews or NDA dates.

Last memory review was 9 days ago, so it's likely this will go up very soon. Problem is there's two TT memory reviews in the q, so they'll be spaced apart a bit

it really is not "later", but "early/not 100% finished for patreons", we're not holding back reviews

?!? I'm just not seeing a problem..

To view it as a single page you have to be a Silver supporter, but that's the only limitation. The review is fully there.

Is the OP having a genuine problem? Or is this a trolling situation?

So all reviews are published on the free-site - just at a later date?

Yes, absolutely, of course

The review is fully there.
Review was posted on Friday, OP looked at the "Patreon Previews" box on frontpage on Thursday, saw the review listed there and was disappointed he couldn't read it yet

The review is still free at the end of the day. You whining that it isn't free the instant you want it to be, is your problem. Either learn some patience, or pony up the handful of bucks on Patreon, or go whine somewhere else.

I would offer a bit of feedback, for what ever it's worth. I have been a member on this forum, and visiting here for information for a while now. Kind of sad, because in a lot of ways my professional career in Tech( started in desktop support, now working in AWS/Azure hosting) got started here, asking questions....getting answers, trying new things. I know what I have gotten from this website over the years has been invaluable to me, and my family.

I read ArsTechnica, Toms(despite it being Toms), Anand, Hothardware, ..you name it in the review world and I usually check there sites ~ once a week at a minimum when I am bored. I watch Linus, Jayz2cents, Marques, Level 1 techs, Steve/Buildzoid from Gamersnexus....pretty much when ever they put something out. But W1zzard has always been what I considered the standard in Objective Reviews and still is.

Maybe I haven't been coming to TPU enough, because my first experience with discovering you had a Patreon, was the paywall behind a review for Monsterlabo The First. It would be one thing, to distribute the reviews early to those who pay, and simply hide them from everyone else, but to plaster it on the front page in the prime spot is a bit misleading if not jarring...I see a new review, get excited on a new piece of tech or case..then oh..paywall...let down.

Just in case it got lost, my feedback would be to distribute unreleased content in an email, or potentially in a hidden tab on the website instead of the main feed. Just an idea.

Anyway, just my thought.

Any tips on a better way to present it?

I have to assume it is done to help promote Patreon at TPU, which in the end is a huge benefit! It was said to be used to update testing hardware and the like, which brings better reviews.

It's NOT a paywall.
It's an early access PREVIEW mode for Patreons.
The rest of us will get the full, unadulterated review once the full review is posted.
So please, take a chill pill, as most of the reviews you see there aren't even the final edit.
There's nothing to be upset or disappointed about. You can see it as a preview of upcoming content if it makes you feel better.

This was just discussed a few days ago: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/reviews-only-available-to-gold-supporters.269337/

Regarding Monster Labo specifically, I wanted to post Montech Fighter today, because it has been in the q for 2 weeks now, this week we also have two NDA case reviews coming up, so Monster Labo isn't happening this week

And the thread got locked, so no one else could voice an opinion or give credence to it. Do something, don't do something. Why have a feedback forum if you don't want it?
