Right way to set up Vendetta 2?

I think my temp is a bit high.
Asus P5K with E6750 @ 3.2ghz.

Idle everest 33~35 and realtemp 27~30
Load everest 45~48 and realtemp 40~43

On stock cooling it was Idle around 40 on Everest
and load around 62 on Everest.

It was my first time installing a cooler and applying thermal paste.
I also use AC mx-2. I may not have properly applyed the thermal paste
but still I think the temp is a bit higher than others who posted on reviews.

Is this the right way to install?
I faced my CPU cooling fan with case rear fan because
I thought case rear fan pulls air out of the case and CPU cooling fan
pushes it out of the heatsink.

Also the contact between CPU and heatsink might not be perfect
as I was bad at it first time trying and the push pin was really hard....

it should be the other way around, what your causing is a deadspot (low pressure between the two fans) which means their isnt proper airflow to cool the cpu, you should turn the cooler the opposite way around so that the air flow is like this

Exhaust < Rear Fan < Cooler < CPU Fan

Also another questions is does side of fan matters?
If you look at the photo with heatsink and the one with only fan.
They are facing different side right.
I installed it so it's opposite to the first photo of heasink and fan
because I think it might be bad for the wires or whatever lines
to be touching the hot heatsink...

Nope, the size shouldnt matter, as long as it can fit on the cooler, its good. (though even using rubber bands when it doesnt fit, shouldnt hurt )

the heatsink itself doesnt get that hot actually, so you should be fine, the wires can take care of themselves.

and maybe even re apply thermal plaste

This time I'll try real hard to tighten those push pins...
I think it might not be in all "all" the way in
as I was eager to test this and was frustrated
and also cut my hand from the sharp heatsinks

A nice guide. May help with your temps if you apply the TIM like in that guide.

I placed pieces of DC-Fix on both sides... about 2.5cm wide and from the top to bottom, so the fan will not blow right out from the sides of the cooler.

but my fans suddenly gotten louder,
its quite in the beginning but after some time
in Windows it starts to get louder
any suggestions?

Your fan is most likely being controlled by some fan speed option in the bios which you need to change. Your RealTemp temperatures seem pretty normal to me. I don't think you have anything to worry about. 40-43c under load on a 65nm chip is very good.

I'll take a look at my BIOS but I don't
remember any fan options in there, cus I've been there a lot
for overclocking.

maybe those were 45nm chips that I saw in the reviews

I think something was hitting around my power fan or something,
I kind of rearranged stuff so nothing might hit the fan
and it is super quite now!
Plus I went to BIOS and set the fan as "silent"
so its like really silent.
I've done the test and not much difference between performance and silent anyways

Your temps are pretty decent. If your first setup had the fan pulling instead of pushing that should be OK, but I'd vote for turning it 180 degrees and letting the fan push air through the sink.

Personally I stopped using push pins, but as long as you follow instructions and hear the click they should do fine.

I had 50 load on the same proc and a similar board with a low-profile cooler, getting 40-45 isn't bad at all.

rear exhaust fan - heatsink - fan

Call me crazy but, I think the fan is mounted on the heatsink in the wrong direction. Look closely at the first pic. It looks more like the fan is oriented to pull air through the heatsink rather than pushing it. Can you post a picture of the heatsink so that the fan blades can be clearly seen?

You shouldn't have flipped the fan around, the side with the wires should be against the heatsink, with it installed like you have it now it's pulling air away instead of pushing it through.

Was the fan always facing that direction? I know the heatsink was flipped around but just the fan I mean. Anyway, looking at the pictures you should be fine. Maybe I'm just seeing things. Your setup looks fine. Assuming you applied the thermal paste correctly, you should be good to go. Then again, those temps weren't really that bad to begin with.

I was comparing with 45nm ones
Anyways the fans were other way around
I just changed it when I fliped my whole cooler around

That setup should be good. Maybe get some cable management done to lower any other obstruction to your airflow.

Btw most 6750's clock to 3,2 easily

I actually went up to 3.72 @ 1.4875v
but my RAM wasn't for overclocking and it was at 2.5v
So I just lowered it back to 400mhz x 8 which is the correct speed
for my RAM @ 1.8v
Later I'll buy good sets of overclocking RAM and try again

Yeah, I think my CPU's pretty good,
cus I had my FSB v and NB v at the lowest too.
I'll just have to make some extra money and get some decent RAMs now
can't wait whenver the time comes

yeah I keep my vandetta fan blowing towards the back, so it creates a wind tunnel, it might not give your cpu a huge drop in temps, but it sure will help cool down other things in the case, faster airflow being the factor.

trust me airflow matters, my friend had his rig with some screwed up airflow, I redid his setup, and he god 10C drop in temps
