RIP gigabyte gtx 460

It lasted about 4 months.
Huge graphic corruption every time I open a 3D application, also flash videos in fullscreen make it crash. It sometimes recovers...other times its a full freeze. :laugh:

So yea, give advice or feel free to send me to the red side :toast:

PS: I am using latest drivers, card never goes above 60 C, and this came outta nowhere on a card that has never been overclocked. :roll:

Sorry to hear that mate, have you tried a fresh driver install? Some people have had problems with the 266.58 drivers. If all else fails does the card have warranty?

Yea we'll do, but it sure feels weird when u read about this problem on the internet, on newegg reviews and then boom! it happends.
Has anyone had a similar experience ? I think I am going to try flashing it. Perhaps I manage to deliver the final blow

PS: moving on to re-installing drivers now.

I wouldn't flash it in case you can't flash it back and it affects the warranty. Also maybe worth taking the card out and checking any of the contacts/PCIE slot for excess dust/dirt as I had an experience with my GTX 460 where excess dust on the contacts was making it stutter and crash to desktop sometimes.

If its 4months old, I wouldn't tamper with it at all. Reinstall drivers etc...whatever you want to do on the software end. If nothing works, just RMA the sucker.

Ok, so I read the thread again and took LifeOnMars's advice to re-seat the card...and it seems to work fine now!!!

I had the same thing happen to my Sparkle 460. Anytime the card was needed to render anything, video or 3d, drivers crashed non stop until i closed the application. Had to RMA it, got my replacement, and all is well.

Oh, crap. I have GV-N460OC2-1GI. New, i have it about 4 days. Tested it on 10-12 games, works fine, only BF Bad Company 2 have some graphic corruptions.

maybe the pciex connector get dirty or something or some pins not touch perfectly to the card
