A little late to the thread, but I am pretty addicted now.

One of the funniest things to see in this game is 8 cars jump for the ball and miss. Chaos mode shenanigans.

Dude this game is fucking awesome, why is nobody talking about it? (I've been away for a bit, mostly playing this!)

I'm at pro rank right now, around level 34 I believe...ranked 300+ in most of the ranks, been 400 once in doubles and super close in 1v1 then back down. Much better played with friends and Mumble.

Yeah it's awesome! It has that kick ass feeling to it, doesn't matter if you win or lose :D Usually I play with 3v3 or 2v2 with friends, it's nice to play after some intense games of CS:GO :p

Winter Games update coming Dec 14th
Keep hearing good things about this game, but the videos just don't make it seem all that awesome.

Thinking about the four pack. One for me, one for a friend of mine, and two spares to be sold at cost (~$10) to TPU members? Discount for active TPU crunchers and/or Folders?

It is a fun game. It can be difficult, so if you don't like a challenge I would avoid it. I am no good at the game though and I have a blast. When you have 8 players all dive at a stationary ball and miss it is just hilarious.

After the mutation update, this game has been running really bad for me; horrible stuttering (at least I think that what it's called, basically the screen freezes for .1-.2 seconds). It keeps happening even after dropping to lower res and going to 'performance' settings... anyone else have this problem?

Oh, when it's on sale, there really is no reason not to buy it :)

really? but it's an Unreal Engine 3.0 game... a 486DX should be able to run it at this point :p

I know the PS4 has weird performance issues.

Winter Games update will be out next week and remember it's Free!

Rocket League is coming to Xbox One in Feb 2016 but it will not support cross-platform play with PC and PS4 because Microsoft won't allow it (booooooooo)

love the Mad Max map.

glad to hear :)

this is OG Rocket League right here

this UT 2003 mod was so popular that Epic created a mutator called Bombing Run for UT 2004 based off this.

actually if you really want to go back

I also played robot roller derby disco dodgeball this year but Rocket League is better!

Rocket League is fantastic and I don't even really like soccer or driving games. you learn pretty quick in the tutorials how difficult it can be to hit the ball straight and how much depth there is to the game and it's presented better than any EA Sports game I have played. I can't recommend Rocket League enough. 8 million downloads and sits #9 on Steam charts so i'm not alone :p

edit: even the way the developer cuts trailers is amazing

isn't that trailer so cute? it's disgusting :p

have you played Madden or FIFA lately? EA Sports games use this horrible Metro looking UI but Rocket League keeps things simple even their Fake EA Trax at the bottom is nice touch.

I played "Ice Hockey Mode" yesterday, and I gotta say I really enjoyed it. There's something really satisfying about hitting that puck dead-on when it's flying towards you... Also it's really easy to make center balls, just hit that ball in the general direction of the wall and it'll fly right before the goal :p
I do wish you could select the puck in private matches though

YES! They need to keep the puck in. It's a whole different strategy with it since you can basically ride it up the walls. It's a nice change of pace. :D
