I stopped playing this game because of "kids who play this game for a living"

I enjoyed the game at first, but it got more competitive than fun for me.

I found myself playing screaming and clinching my controller extra hard as I hit the ball.... I was so into it lol!

But yeah, ill play a casual game here and there..... but for some reason I noticed when I play this game, my heart rate increases a fair amount lol.

I have been playing the game since launch and it still makes my heart pound. how many games in your Steam library can do that tho? :p

you should check out Rocket League tutorials on Youtube. the only way you're going to get good at pulling off advanced aerial moves is if you practice, practice, practice

Any game that makes me really into it is a game for me. This has been Rocket League 100%. I have gone hoarse just from screaming, spit soda all over my TV from yelling and epic shots, thrown my controller into the closet door, hurt my hand from punching my chair arm, and the neighbors even came over to our place to ask us to please shut our window because we were cussing too loud and their kids were outside (for the record we didn't notice them). For months straight my roomie and I would come home and play the game until we had to go to sleep for work the next morning. We get really into it. Rocket League was definitely GOTY for us last year, and will probably be this year too.

Sadly, I'm only decent at snow day because I can predict it much better than the ball. Plus it can be so unpredictable and makes it more fun. The time they take it back off is the only time I'll play ball mode again.

This is so true. I hate myself for playing this game. It is hard so I must overcome it and be very good at it. But I can't!!!1 It drives me insane. Yea I have watched some of the tutorials but truth is ain't nobody got time for that. Maybe if I could turn it into a paying part time job ahahahahaha. Anyway, playing during the day during the weekday is the best time if you can. You get a lot of stay at home dads, drunk/high college kids putting off studying, and foreigners who are just terrible. Unfortunately the days I do stay home from work I am busy doing chores for the wife!!!!

edit: i am actually pretty good now but the key is i cannot be drinking when playing. and i dont like to play unless i am drinking!!!!!

I'm forever nOOb but it's much fun as long as I play with people equally bad and not ruining it to others.
God bless all people playing while drunk!

Btw. do you all play with gamepads? I only play on keyboard :(

looks like the "Hoops" mutator won't arrive until April :(

also a Psyonix developer at GDC said that Hoops is much harder than Snow Day :p

I think everybody here uses a controller. if you buy a controller make sure you map Air Roll and Powerslide to different buttons (so you're not mashing B and X or Square and Circle on the controller at the same time)

the first day playing Rocket League is like an infomercial

THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY *black and white*

if you got 3 other friends on Steam consider giving them the codes that way you don't have to play with strangers. believe me when I say this game hooks the people you least expect. no matter how resistant your friends are. the attach rate isn't at World of Warcraft levels but it's impossible to not like Rocket League :p

Arg, my RL won't launch now. Anytime I launch it I get D3D9 error. Something about the desktop being locked.

I've googled but to no avail.
