Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
If this is 1000$ and the fully enabled TU102 has 4608 cores one can only imagine how much will the Titan variant cost.
pfff you call that overpriced? 1000 a XX80Ti? ... i still see some 1080Ti at 1500$ and Titan XP at 1800/2000$ lately ...

and, 7 gb ram for the 2070? seriously nvidia? well, i know GDDR6 is more performant but why cut down 1gb ... (well ... not that i really hit more than 5gb in most game i play recently )
and an obvious launch price of +600$ (what? it will be around 400$? naaahhh that will be the price of the 2060 )

:ohwell: maybe i will just find a 2nd hand (non f'miner) Vega 64 instead

edit: well not 20XX for me this year .... too much gimmick in it, that we don't know if it will be exploited, Tensore core/RT core ... well unless they behave like cuda core when used by default, unless like that and if not "only exploited on upcoming game but basically useless for all the rest" it's just a mean to up the price... i can see my retailer pushing the argument on a 1900$ 2080Ti "but it has Tensore Core and man look at that 125Tflops plus it also have RT core which make that card 600% faster than your actual" ... (just like the time when one argument of MMX was "MMX make your internet faster"?)

Do be aware, that's really just the MSRP, if where you live 1080tis are 1500$ this will be more than that.

well unless they behave like cuda core when used by default

They don't , there's no mystery about that.

I don't think AMD will release anything significant this year. Maybe a Polaris refresh at best...

well I am leaving for grad school soon, so my next build will be in spring of next year. i am just hoping AMD can respond by then, otherwise I am rolling nvidia. i can't wait around forever

If this is 1000$ and the fully enabled TU102 has 4608 cores one can only imagine how much will the Titan variant cost. It might just be the most overpriced Titan yet with less than 5% performance improvement, if they'll even release one this time around.

What's unusual is that there is no mentioning of Tensor and RT cores. I also don't know how they're they're getting away without much in the way of improved memory bandwidth when they halved the number of ALUs per SM. This will likely run into memory bandwidth constraints more often than past iterations.

YES. I have tons of questions seeing that spec list too. And to be fair I am not really that warmed up for this Turing gen. We haven't seen hard performance numbers yet which kinda already tells me enough: this is more of the same in terms of performance. We're stagnating and we get buzz words to fill up the void (AI, RTX).

But, seeing the core count and 285W really is telling already. This is just Pascal with some marketing sauce when it comes to raw performance. The clocks are lowered to remain within TDP budget with higher shader counts and the new resources, which just about evens it all out. There is a good chance that disabled Tensor cores will allow higher boost clocks - and that enabling them therefore directly impacts performance.

Bahh all hype, wait till launch and if the core is low it's probably a higher IPC boost so don't worrie Green guys, momma will cradle ya all if you feel down n out and need some cuddles :roll:J/K actually I'm hoping boost will be amazing as usual

I'm gonna quote myself. Apparently this how they are addressing that, through faster cache : "a new unified cache architecture with double the bandwidth of the previous generation."
As far SMs go, structurally they keep making them more and more similar to GCN CUs as I envisioned.

You type that up and you ask why? Half of what you're typing is impossible to understand. All I can gather is that you're flamebaiting in several Turing related topics now. Very cool...

It;s also possible he has a tumor and its ruining his ability to coherently process. I actually read a news article on that once, a girls texts became worse and worse over a 1 year period, just not making any sense, but still slightly coherent... instead of picking on him, I'd recommend he speak to a Doctor... because this also is incoherent:

He also just could be from India and have a bad English. meh

@Vayra86 also fishing isn't that hard. you shouldn't need to teach a man how to do it, let natural selection do its wonders instead.

I shouldn't bad mouth because I have a supplier which hands me over some Palit stuff but damn it's not only an aesthetic problem, the shrouds are very flimsy and their cooling solutions leave much to be desired, at least at the mid range.

You'd expect at least a bit of effort at the higher end but nope. Ah well.

Ive been using palit for years, their jetstream series are pretty good i think, specially the jetstream for 1070 and 1080 series, but the gamerock ones and dual fan ones are meh, aestheticaly at least, though i thought their cooling performance is very good.

oh but i am well aware... MSRP is a fabled unicorn were i live ...

They don't , there's no mystery about that.
that i did know as well ... it was just a "if it could but they won't because NV decided otherwise" poof computational power down the drain until they are exploited, well ... let's bet it will be a ultra proprietary thingy like how CUDA actually behave ...

in short, they will be f***ing up the dev

a Vega 64 is becoming a good alternative to my 1070 (well they are lowering right now, slightly the same price i paid for m 1070 for 1070Ti/1080 performance level, alternatively a 2060 if priced as i think it will could also be one .... but RTC and TC are ... well ... wait and see )

upgrade sidegrade, my bad, are getting weird .... 980Ti to 1070 ... well the 8gb were welcome over the 4 but ... 1070 to 2060 ... what they have? 5gb?

I doubt a 2060 would sell for anything less than 300$ and it's probably not going to be much faster than a 1070.

I doubt a 2060 would sell for anything less than 300$ and it's probably not going to be much faster than a 1070.
That other thread here about AdoredTV says its 7% slower

Ive been using palit for years, their jetstream series are pretty good i think, specially the jetstream for 1070 and 1080 series, but the gamerock ones and dual fan ones are meh, aestheticaly at least, though i thought their cooling performance is very good.

The last Palit I've tried was a 1060 6GB StormX...we thought it would be fine in the build it went into but eh. I know they have some good chips in, at least around the 1060/1070 range they had very high clocking chips. But a 1060 heating up is quite a task since I had an INNO3D 1060 6GB which was almost impossible to heat up under mining conditions.

If you're saying the Jetstreams do well, I will take your word for it. A little bit of context; I'm based in Malta so the ambient temps here don't do anything that's average any justice at all.

Palit has always been so-so in looks department and didn't bother me that much but come on, seriously?
Here are some more "fresh"pictures for easier comparison /MSI,ZOTAC,EVGA,ASUS,GIGABYTE,PALIT/
