AMD is likely to unveil the Radeon RX 6700 series soon. The video cards in this series will use the Navi 22 GPU, which, according to the information we already have, will have 40 compute units. Tom from Moore's Law Is Dead claims to have information about it.
His sources still believe that Navi 22 should have 40 compute units, 20 less than the Navi 21 XL GPU in the RX 6800. However, the clock speeds would be extremely high, with a range of about 2,35 GHz to 2,5 GHz. If we look at previously discovered information about the theoretically achievable clock speeds, this is a real possibility. The now mature 7nm node from TSMC and the smaller size compared to Navi 21 can help. The yields for Navi 22 would be excellent according to the YouTuber sources.
The information about the 12 GB gddr6 with a memory bus of 192-bit also remains unchanged. This time, the memory clock speeds should be increased to 16 Gb / s, so performance should be slightly better. This mid-range Navi GPU also features AMD's Infinity Cache technology, although it is 96 MB and not 128 MB. Therefore, the rather narrow memory bus should not be a problem.
According to Tom, the cards should now be equal to or even better than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, a graphics card that should perform slightly better than the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12 GB vram. The latter announced Nvidia at CES.
