WTF? I have never seen a collection of more bad advice in one place before. I thought I started reading a Tom's hardware thread.

:respect:

That's why i have decided to stick all my personal work to TP, and not scatter like a bitch in other forums too, even though i used to do that before. It's because of people like you, the free and awesome TP image hosting, and the best TP reviews, which include performance summary - a crucial element i need when watching reviews.

Thank you so much for the advice and sorry for the late update. I got the MSI motherboard and I am very happy with it thus far. Also yesterday my new graphics card arrived. Well it's not new because I bought it use but I got an amazing offer, for 250 pounds I got an R9 Nano from XFX. I haven't got the chance to test it in heavy loads yet but so far it works well. I wanted to get an R9 Fury with triple fan but Amazon canceled my order 2 times and up the price from 256 pounds to 295 pounds and I gave up on it. I am still happy I could get a high end graphics card for under 300 pounds.

WTF? I have never seen a collection of more bad advice in one place before. I thought I started reading a Tom's hardware thread.

The card is bad. Anytime you have a card that goes unstable with newer drivers the card is bad. Period. End of story.

The powersupply is MORE than enough for his build short of having 15 hard drives shoved in it.

480w on a 12v rail is plenty for this. Anyone who says differently is wrong. Get over it.

2560x1440 is medium/high settings for a single 480. Certainly not maxing it out.

Anything else anyone wants to be corrected on?

All I can say to this little temper tantrum is wow..

All TPU members should now bow at your feet and worship you as the end all, be all God of computer technology. Chanting "Praise to CDA" and tossing all the $1000 CPU's they can find before you as an offering to your absolute greatness and omnipotence.

I'm sick of seeing this on these forums. You sit there and throw barbs at other forums while committing the very same acts as assbaggery you accuse them of.

You are knowledgeable, but you lack grace and wisdom. And this seems to be the case more and more on these forums. And I'm done on them. The bile and hatred spewed here on a daily basis by the "Superior ones" has convoluted and poisoned a once great place into a cess pool. It saddens me, but I guess the adage "All good things must come to end" rings true here just as much as any other part of life.

To everyone who has ever offered a helping hand to other members with grace and dignity, you have my sincere thanks. I salute you.

Goodbye TPU. Thanks for the good memories you left me with in the past.

No need for arguments guys.
And to the extent i'm responsible for this, as already mentioned, you all have my sincere apologies. I expressed my own opinion and nothing more.

(which i do still stand by. At the time of my focusing on the OP's PSU, he hadn't filled out his specs, hence my saying it depends on the rest of his system + not exactly the best PSU in any case. Likewise with my remark on his GPU; i still stand by what i said, it being that one can't have it all at no additional cost)

@Evo85 do reconsider.

Well it saddens me that just now I understand that the current line up from AMD wont really give me the best for the 1440 screen.
All along I was thinking that the reviews an such even into 4K would give enough power to run a 2K screen at all levels.
So is the Fury, or 390X not a 2K power capable ? ie what options from AMD now will give the full power for 2K ?

Id say the Fury as the 390X is pretty much a 290X 8GB model with minor tweaks

Im worried about so many issues that are cropped up on new gen boards, that using it [480] on Z68 would be the same. cause #1 Cannot update the BIOS, once done cant be reversed.
I think that using like a FURY which seems to have a fair market price, but an 8Gb 390X was getting fairly cheap and still have a huge amount of power and untechnically out perform the 480.

Using a 290 on P67/Z68 is pretty much the same, even for G-Fo users have detection issues at times, so pretty much a bios update is inevitable.

What sucks is Intel has no assistance for your board as of a message i seen here

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us...press-chipset/intel-desktop-board-dz68bc.html

They have plenty of bios updates, here with the latest being from september 2013, so that will mitigate any gpu troubles you may encounter.

What temper tantrum? It is called being blunt. Not everyone is here to spoon feed information around. That post is roughly 3 weeks old that you quoted and in that time period no one had a single issue with it, but yourself. If you do not like people being blunt I invite you to select ignore for me. It is no skin off of my back.

Although if you could throw $1000 CPU's in my direction I would not complain.

2 perfectly good opportunities to exercise self-control squandered.

#1 Don't let the post get to you. People are going to say annoying shit. Don't let it annoy you. If you do then you lose.

#2 You don't by default have to respond to every time you've been quoted by someone. You can also not let that annoy you. By replying you also lose.

I just want some of these $1000 CPU's thrown at me. I think this is a good opportunity. There is no loss if this happens. I would also like a pedestal to stand on.

What????? No.. that's misinformed... :(

* Not sure what a "good" CPU means... but, that makes little sense with a 480
* RX480 will be fine on his new PSU... why would he need more than 500W?
* What does average or above average ram have to do with it? For intel, I would snag some DDR4 3000-3200 CL15. Its the sweetspot. Performance doesn't scale much higher than this (perhaps there is an outlier). But you don't need "above average ram".

lol, how did thread get past earthdog's first response?

Because every **** here has to comment out of egoistic reasons, despite correct answers already being made. The same problem with people not reading up stuffs, simply entering a thread and repeating the same nonsense that has already been answered and debunked as shit.

He's exeggerating when he's saying this board has lost its appeal, but he has a point going on there, I feel some of the same but would never overreact because of it.

I do admit that some crazy stuff is going on on this thread and all of it is beyond my understanding. Alas I am happy I got a more powerful GPU then RX 480 for about the same amount of money I could have had the RX 480 (the higher end ones of course). I am a bit unsure of the 4GB of the Nano for the future, as seeing how texture quality and requirements grow each year even at 1080p resolution.

I have not decided on the monitor resolution at the moment because of budget constraints (I would like to keep it under 300 pounds) and since my requirements are: FreeSync (obviously) and IPS (I edit images so I need good viewing angles and at least sRGB color accuracy). Right now I am thinking of LG 29UM (for the ultra wide awesomeness) or one of the lower ends 1080p 27 inch monitors (they go around 150 pounds). Damn decisions.

Maybe I will upgrade to 2nd generation HBM from AMD in a year or two or when someone will come out with an ultrawide 2160p monitor, though I think that may be a massive sized screen (42 inch maybe?).

If I can make a small recommendation. If you do decide to go with 2K, do not get one of those dumb 2560 x 1080 there silly ridiculous.personal experience/opinion from a LG i bought

I don't recall where but I read here on tpu that ips monitors are all they are cracked up to be, meaning no reason to either go ips or nothing, there are other viable options that are worth considering, but im far from a monitor pro

I will raise you a dozen C4s :p ... I don't mind all the fuss, I love people being happy and having fun more so if I helped in any way to make that happen.

I don't mind VA panels or their derivatives or PLS, the problem is there's a pretty short list of FreeSync monitors (this is where I get my info: http://www.144hzmonitors.com/list-of-freesync-monitors/ ). I would love to get a 34" 3440x1440 but they sell above 400 pounds and any other ultra wide option is only 2560x1080 unfortunately. I had looked for 2560x1440 monitor with FreeSync but they are again above 400 pounds though I did found an HP Envy 32 which is FreeSync but there is next to nothing information available and its 350 pounds but not new.

Its very bewildering to me that reviews come out with contradictory information of what performance you get on what graphics card, some claiming that Fury/Nano can do 4K at around 40 FPS, RX 480 can do 2560x1440 at close to 60 FPS, on very high settings.
