And I recognize that there is a price difference...between US dollars and the British pound.

What part of that looks fishy to you?
The fact that the RX 480 is better in everything besides passmark, face detection fewer output processors, and pixel rate. With the price being based on a conversion.

I might be, just don't trust GPUboss myself. Was curious because for the longest time after release they had nothing on it.

Think is even 2nd hand, a gtx970 isn't much cheaper then a gtx1060 so not sure why would go with a 970 over it.

^This, anyone today would compare the 1060, which starts at only $200 vs $250 for the 480 (Newegg US), and easily beats it.

The 480 is highly overrated.

Both cards are pretty weak, but I'd take the RX 480, because it has 2 GB more Vram and simply more shaders, meaning it's better under DX12 and Vulcan, a GPU more suited for the future that will easily pass the GTX 1060 in some time.

Got myself the 480 this weekend.
Extremely happy with it.

It´s so powerfull I can play anyhting I have full detail.
Wonderfull!!

Thou I am starting to think that the Rx470 4GB would´ve been a better buy.
I could´ve saved 90bucks and played all on allmost full detail :p

Topic should read: "RX-470 vs GTX-970"

What's confusing it performs better than the 970.
