RX 580 8gb Phantom gaming overheating?

I recently built a pc i5 9800F 16gb 2666mhz ram and Phantom gaming rx580 8gb. Was surprised how well it handles most of games I throw at it. However I am facing an issue with card temperature, every time I am in the game, the temperature of the card goes up to 85-87 degree. (keep in mind that card is like 1 week old and bought as brand new). I did notice that the fan speed goes up to 68%, didn't try to push it to 100% yet.

My question would be is there something wrong with these temps? If so, what could be the issue considering that card is brand new? Therefore, is it bad for fans to work on 100% all the time?

I did not do any overclocking, the air flow in case is quite decent with lots of fans. Temperature in my room is also not high at all. Used MSI afterburner to monitor all the temps. Any comments would be appreciated guys.

My room temperature Is like 19-22C, if not even lower. Yes, the card in your link is exactly the one I have

I should also mentioned that even in Idle the temp of the card would be around 42-45C

There will be some variance in card temperatures, even with the same model. I do not see that 6 to 8 degrees over his testing to be that big of a deal. Of course, I run a 2080ti with an FE cooler, and its hot as balls when fully loaded.

Would it be okay if I manually set my fan speed up to 100% for every time I begin gaming session? I mean I don't mind the loudness as long as my card stays cool

If you don't mind the noise, have at it. Would make your life easier if you just set a fan curve in something like MSI Afterburner. This way you can game without the need to manually change things. It will ramp when temperature thresholds are met in the software.

MSI Afterburner is what you need to create and adjust the fan curve.

Its a typical rgb case, airflow is bogus on them. Get fans that exhaust quicker and intake, better off removing side of case and blowing fan in

Improve the case's air flow if possible. You may have low ambient/room temp but that does not mean the case has also low internal ambient.
Plus this is a slightly OC model with an overvoltage as well (1340Mhz -> 1380MHz / 1125~1150mV -> 1175mV). You can try with MSI Afterburner to undervoltage it, about 10~20mV for start. Mine stays at about 1131mV (1360MHz) by default.
And as others said you dont have to mess with your fan every time you stress the card. Create a fun curve to your liking.

Well A FE card runs about 78C at full load OC'd so ... any balls that hot are certainly sterile

if I downgrade the voltage a bit, should I downgrade the clock as well? Also, will there be a noticible downgrade in performance?

No if not necessary. Just begin with -15~20 and test/game alot of different benches/games for 1~2 days. dont rush it.
Always with afterburner...

Copy all those...

MSI Afterburner 08-Nov-19 19_08_18.png

And here all the green stuff...

MSI Afterburner 08-Nov-19 19_12_14_LI.jpg

Mind that afterburner sets the voltage in specific steps (GPU or VRM requirement) and you cant change by 1mV at a time. Mine goes like 0, -6, -12, -18 and so on...

Or use Radeon relive and let AMD auto undervolt your card.
