Recently I had a problem with my new GPU that while gaming it would just stop displaying anything to the screen. I fixed that by getting rid of an adapter but now instead of that at random times 5 minutes to 5 hours the games just close. Yeah the game just crashes and it takes me to the desktop, and still I can use the computer. I tried multiple drivers. I don't have anything overclocked.

Specs:
GPU: RX 590 Nitro+ SE
CPU: i5 4460
MB: GA-H97-D3H
HDD: WD 1TB
RAM: 8GB 1600MHz HyperX
PSU: SeaSonic 750W Focus Plus Platinum (Just got this PSU, the gpu not displaying anything before was with my old PSU so I don't think it has anything to do with that)

What games are crashing? What monitor? Double check you power connections to the gpu as well. I had that once where I did not have a ground fully seated and it crashed everytime I tried to run a game.

Hitman 2 and Fortnite. I already sold my old gpu. It's a Philips freesync monitor, I tried disabling that and I will see how it goes as it doesn't even happen every day but It's still a bit annoying. And the games just close(aka crash to desktop) and then I can open them again. So I don't think the GPU is faulty, right?

Also, can it be freesync and/or HDMI Link Assurance?

Complete DDU of everything + safe mode & reinstall the new drivers when changing GPU?

I got windows reinstalled.

Latest motherboard bios installed?
Open event viewer, @Solaris17 @newtekie1 should be able to tell you what data to take pictures of in there.

Download latest chipset drivers.

Pull the gpu out, if you have electronic grade contact cleaner, unplug pc, spray the pcie slot out, or use an aerosol duster, reinsert the card fully and squared in the slot.

DDU twice in protected mode, once in safe mode. Follow all prompts.

Install latest chipset drivers, restart, then GPU Driver, restart.

Are you using the same hdmi cable , try a different one and lower the strain in bandwidth terms on it, by setting max fps of 60 and enabling chill , see if it still CTD's.

I'm using a cable that came with the monitor. Latest MB bios is already installed.

Here's event viewer:

None of those events are related to games crashing. Try Applications folder instead of System in Event Viewer. Specifically things about Application Hang.

That application hang is about something called ShellExperienceHost.exe

Okay so I installed some chipset drivers. Unplugged the computer, reseated the card, I put 2 separate cables for each slot. The PCI-E is very clean and doesn't have any dust in it so I don't think cleaning it up will fix my issues. I will need to play around for a bit now, I will leave feedback.

ShellExperienceHost is aka Windows Store apps and effects applied to start menu and such. That's not related to games crashing.

There are no events logged at approximately the time the game crashed? If there aren't any events created then the game is not technically crashing: it's closing itself for reasons unknown. Fortnite especially should have the Unreal Engine 4 crash reporter pop up and if you're not seeing that, it furthers the point that it isn't crashing. Fortnite especially should produce logs (and minidump) of the crash if it is indeed crashing. That would be useful for debugging what is happening.

What display driver are you using? If not 19.1.1, you should certainly give 19.1.1 a try. Also... use Display Driver Uninstaller before installing 19.1.1.

Checklist:
1) Reinsert card and make sure everything is securely plugged in (which you did)
2) Update drivers to 19.1.1 (next on list if you haven't)
3) Open a dialog with Sapphire about the card because it is TDRing (Timeout Detection and Recovery).

I'm not sure that TDR means. I can't RMA it or whatever because stuff is different in my country and the store's suppliers do warranty and stuff so they will just pop it in a computer and say it's working and return the card.

1) Unstall whatever drivers you have installed now via Apps and Features.
2) Restart computer.
3) Run DDU and remove GPU drivers: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1432
4) Restart computer.
5) Install 19.1.1: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/amd-radeon-graphics-drivers/
6) Restart computer.

Problem will hopefully be fixed. At bare minimum, it minimizes likelihood drivers are to blame.
Ok, thank you very much, you are very helpful, I will make sure to do all of this. If it doesn't help I will try messing around wattman settings, if that doesn't help I will try a fresh windows install. I will report back if I fixed the issue, or if I didn't fix it. I just really don't want to deal with faulty hardware.

TDR = Windows says "hello" and graphics card/driver responds

Windows subsequently slaps it and everything goes back to normal...for a while.

If the suggestions of FordGT90Concept don't work, try re-seating the RAM sticks and if that fails, check the disk RAM. I happened to get the same type of errors when I installed 2 sticks of RAM that hadn't good compatibility with the motherboard. Constant CTD every 10-20 minutes when playing resourse consuming games.

Worked fine for 3 years with my old GPU :/ I also have only one stick

I'm not sure that TDR means. I can't RMA it or whatever because stuff is different in my country and the store's suppliers do warranty and stuff so they will just pop it in a computer and say it's working and return the card.
Try what @FordGT90Concept said first, maybe download the latest 19.1.1 files and then remove your ethernet/disconnect WiFi and then run DDU, restart and run again in safe mode, install 19.1.1 while still offline. Though your GPU has a manufacturer warranty regardless of where you live afaik, contact Sapphire direct through their website if the above suggestions don't work. Though I would go as far as doing a clean install of Windows before I got to the point of RMA.
