Rx6800xt (mine) and Rx5700xt (friend) rectangle artifacts in Cold War and Battlefield

Hallo,

the title basically says it all anyway.

Here is a video shown with the issue in Battlefield (with the same fix applied as in the video)

... and here is the bigger issue as I have not found a fix for Cold War yet. Also it would be really appreciated if someone with a 5000/6000 AMD card who owns Cold War could test for the issue. I have a friend with a 5700xt and he has the same artifacts (albeit not as bad, but close). The multiplayer maps Moscow, Raid and Express are the worst offenders, especially raid as shown in the screens.

Here are the screens in Cold War

Were there any "game ready" drivers made for these games?
If so, try out those drivers.

that's "normal" on RDNA Cards.
i have it too on all my RDNA 1&2 GPUs. (exactly this!)
then there are the same square artifacts in rainbow six siege blood splatters when playing with vulkan for example.

I found almost nothing online. How is this ok? I really consider swapping with a 3080 if I can due to this but I really don't want to honestly..

Its the game then. Fyi Nvidia get strange "artifacts" as well so there aint anything you can do about it.

Play the game

No doubt that Nvidia cards have a fair share of issues aswell, but I dont remember something that annoying in a game. Cold War and Battlefield are my main games. I never had any issues on my 1080 ti, but if its the fault of the game I find it even more hilarious (and sad).

AAA companies cant fix their game months after release? Well done.

That's definitely a driver issue. Only fix would be to fiddle with drivers. If you have the ability to swap for a 3080, I definitely would. I'm very happy with mine and can speak well of it

I think companies care less and less about the products tbh, I only play 3 games, Warframe, Dead by Daylight and Red Dead Online and those last 2 have many many issues....and if even R*, the company that makes the biggest products in the entertainment industry cant/wont fix things... (and remember we needed 1 dude on the outside to fix the rediculous loading times on GTA5) then I have little hope for the gaming industry as a whole.

Sadly this is a state of affairs very common to current day 'triple A' publishers/games. The attention quickly moves to a cash shop and stuff like this is never considered more than a minor issue. It'll get fixed, but when? Anyone's guess. And note, its not 'just' a driver related issue. A driver might fix it. but the developer is responsible for initiating the process. The next step is AMD moving rapidly to release a fix.

Really frustrating reality check for me but thank you guys for the input. Guess I just have to deal with until (if ever) it gets fixed

Keep reporting the problem to the game maker, the squeaky wheel gets the grease

Just no...

This is a game/drivers issue. More than likely nothing can be done until one of the 2 are updated for the issue. Swapping to a green card might fix it, but they have their own issues.

that's "normal" on RDNA Cards.
LOL I didn't even have anything close to being that bad when I don't OC the snot out of my RX 5600 XT core. In fact, I only got crashes when I had the wrong settings in the VBIOS.
And if the core can't do the frequency I specified, it will go down very fast in Unigine Superposition 1080p extreme, IIRC.

Usually, right after I even see it get remotely like that, in Superposition 1080p extreme, it will go down! Then I have to hold down the power button and get nicked with a "Critical" category error in the event log, from Windows, for not shutting down properly.
