Hey guys i have another question for ya

I'm looking for a decent cooler suggestion that can efficiently cool a 1600 with a OC. I had a cooler before but i had to switch cases to a Silverstone GD09 from a Fractal which is really limited on space. The tallest cooler it can accommodate is 133mm and my 360mm rads won't fit either. What would you guys suggest ?

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Likely... look up a review.

If you are only doing minor overclocking, then get the spire.

Atleast 4GHz is what I'm shooting for ?

Case choice neutered your goals.

Look up reviews of am4 based coolers and check their height specs... ;)

Yea but old case took up alot of space and looked out of place. Lady no like that

So had to get a smaller case to put it in the entertainment setup. This one fits perfect and blends right in.

In my opinion, the voltage and temperatures required to try and reach 4GHz (which you may not ever get stable) are not worth the tiny performance increase you will likely ever notice without benchmarking applications.

Go for a nice 3.7-3.8 OC with spire cooler if possible. If not, then look around for compact coolers.

Man this is hard :banghead:

Not really...;)

Simple logic. You been here long enough to know the basics, which were overlooked. You assumed your goal could still be reached with a cpu that barely can get there in the first place, while additionally setting some limits on the cooling options because of the case. Expectations needed reset because of the case choice, essentially.

Yea counterproductive

I'm still looking around

My suggestion would be the cooler in that picture.:D

I would think that those two are diametrically opposed.
Maybe the ARCTIC Freezer 13?
Not a bad cooler

The tallest cooler it can accommodate is 133mm
Noctua NH-U9S (125mm) and NH-D9L (110mm) should fit in that case- most 92mm tower coolers should fit an allow for a decent overclock.

Will you use the drive bay? If I remember correctly, the height can be further limited by it. I used the same case for a HTPC build together with a Cryorig C7 and there was not much room left.

Silverstone GD09 build: 06:45

The old Amd wraith cooler will be fine for 3.8-3.9, it's fine for those clocks on the 8 core stable.

Best cooler you can get for that case is the Noctua NH-C14.
You won't be able to get a new one for $40 though. They do sell for about that much used though…
