For some reason, the board is under NDA but the CPU is not ... right ...

Translated from Spanish via Google Translate.

AMD-Ryzen-7-2700X-X470-OC-740x370.jpg

On the left, non stable on all cores. On the right stable on all cores, but @ a toasty 1.456v.

EDIT

Also: the dude used a Corsair H80i for this review.

Dude only tested RAM @ 3200: we don't know yet if we can achieve higher RAM speeds.

That does seem to be running very hot... I find it hard to believe voltage is that high at stock 2700x though. :/

Hope this isnt representative of all Ryzen+ CPU's 4.3 standard OC is where this needs to be at, not 4.2@1.45 heck I can hit 4.1 on my 1600 (non X) at similar volts, though there is a small IPC inscrease also, by small I mean +-5%

Isn't the max turbo boost 4.3? I know that's not all cores but generally you can overclock all 1st gen Ryzens to their max boost on all cores with ease... one would expect the same with Ryzen+

It's not stock, both instances are with overclock.

I will wait for "proper reviews" but this is much better then what the same dude "accomplished" with a X370 board.

Apparently, BIOS versions influence the scores quite a bit. Since all BIOSes are still "early" BIOSes, we shall see if some / any improvements are still possible.

As far as i know, 4.3 is for single core only. 4.2 on all cores, though not much, is still an improvement.

1st Ryzen gen would go @ least 3.9 on all cores, a sizable percentage would reach 4.0 while very few reached 4.1. I'm talking 100% stable, ofc.

I said the 4.3 boost wasn't all cores, but..... that's the max boost for the CPU and as I said, most 1st gen Ryzens can easily overclock to their max boost clock on all cores, so I shouldn't expect any less with Ryzen+/1.5

4.3Ghz should be obtainable by all 2700's on all cores as 4Ghz is on all 1800x's

Going from PCCG website the 2700x is a 95w CPU? not a 105W ?

Look closely on the CPU-Z pic in OP: it says right there that max TDP is 105W.

They messed up, it seems:

Can't edit OP's title any longer so i'll post this here, since it's from the same source: i'd like to change the OP's title to "Ryzen 2600 and 2700x reviews on an X470 motherboard" but i can't. Perhaps a mod can help with that.

Here's another review from the same dude that did the 2700x: like the 2700x, also translated from Spanish via Google Translate.

Like last time, the board used is still under NDA but the processor is not: i'm i the only one that finds this totally odd?

No mention of the cooler used: think it's the stock one but can't be sure :(

RAM not ran @ higher then 3200 MHz: because it can't or because reviewer hasn't tried / managed? Dunno :(

Here's a sneak peek, fully stable:

well ive thrown the money down, I'm just waiting on delivery... 19th i think it is... coming from ocuk, a shiny new 2700x.

i'll be disappointed if i dont reach a decent 4.3ghz on all cores... an extra 300mhz on the 1800x would of made the chip very quick if my attempts at 4.1 were anything to go by.
I'm keeping the crosshair vi aswell. should be interesting to say the least...:toast:

Dunno about 4.3 but, from what's been seen thus far, even @ 4 GHz it's an improvement over previous gen, according to this:

Dude compared it to a 1700X @ 4 GHz, instead of an 1800X but, @ the same speed, that's a nice improvement in the few games the dude ran, me thinks.

We shall see when they launch: just a bit more then a day to go.

cant wait tbh... i read the article about how they may release a cherry picked 2800x if intel responds with a faster chip in the price segment.
so thinking on it, i'll be side grading to one of those if they do release... we are hardware junkies after all... it would be wrong not to. imo lol :toast:

btw my 1800x hits 70degrees while under heavy load, that's what limits my clock... as after that the chip becomes unstable. I'm interested in how the new node effects temps and the voltages etc... I'm actually excited to see the results... :) i just watched the video above... he's hitting 80 degrees to reach 4.2-4.3 and he says he's unstable . the voltages were 1.3-1.35 so still lower than the 1.4v we see on the 1800x. maybe the smaller substrate has a harder time at dissipating the heat. as he said he had the chip under a full loop. i need to test one myself... now i have questions... :)

Seen something like that.

Tbh, dunno if it makes sense to do it: they'll probable be saving those for ThreadRipper, to replace the 1900X.

It would make sense if RyZen 2000 series were neck and neck, gaming wise, VS current Intel's top offerings thus overtaking Intel but it seems RyZen 2000 series didn't improve enough to do so.

Ofc, i could be wrong ... we shall see ...

looks great... for the price this thing is a beast.

the 370 board looks gimped... i know everyone rags on intel for forcing you to change motherboards, but it looks like a lot of performance left on the table if you dont upgrade to 470 with this.

According to this:

You'll lose precision boost overdrive only, so not that much, apparently.

Only multi-threaded games / apps should be affected (the more cores used, the more affected will be). Virtually no difference for single core.

Intel usually "forces" you to change boards. With AMD, you'll be able to put a processor launched in 2020 in a board bought last year (as of March, when RyZen launched), according to AMD, since that's the planned longevity of the AM4 platform.

This does NOT mean there won't be newer chipsets in between, as evidenced by X470 (and Z490, apparently): to use those, you'll obviously need a new board.

Well they talk about Ryzen 5 and at this rate that will not be out till 2025 and would be a 9000 series part, if AMD sticks to launching+ models every other year.

Not sure why people are throwing unproven comments about 1st gen overclocks. Many get near max boost on all cores but not stable at or over it.
Also, if you want high mem frequency, which you do with Ryzen, you take a hit on stability. Let's not make up numbers about how far 1st gen clocks.
1700x @ 3.82GHz, mem @ 3200MHz. That's me.

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.

If these benchmarks are true you also lose a heap of memory bandwidth and tac on some latency.

I'm 1800x @3.8 - 4.15ghz with 32Gb Gskill B-Die @3466mhz, ive been running these settings across most of the bios versions.
maybe your cpu is just a lower bin... i think there were a lot of 1800's rebranded as 1700x's as that's what the company sold most of. the 2700x has improved latencies for higher IO. clock for clock its 7-10percent faster if not more... I'm looking forward to seeing if i can hit the same as the people with new boards. my chips arriving any minute... its a day late ocuk!!!! :slap: :toast:
