I really really really came close to a 2600/x. Super close. Got my 2700x on a newegg bundle deal. Glad I did.
It leaves the 3600x unjustifiable to think about purchasing, and the 3700x is too much for little gains.

Could easily get a few years from 2600/2700 processors. The IPC is decent enough, core/thread count is there.

20 years ago, I wasn't even imagining 16 threads on the desktop lol.
I prefer the non-X models because they have a better price/performance ratio, X-models are better for those who don't manually OC..

Poor man's 2600 owner here, ie 1600 AF. Running at 4.0 ghz. I sold my 2400g for $88 plus shipping costs ($105 total) and picked up the 1600 af shipped for $85, so I made $3 on the upgrade :p
"The new Ryzen 5 1600 AF - cheap AF" I should get a job in marketing..

I've had my 2700x for over 2 years now and couldn't be happier. Although I got my threadrippers over so I don't have much time to play with the 2700X now. For what I use it for it is damn fast and does an awesome job with its 8c16t :) I can really recommend that CPU for workstation workloads especially or heavy threaded work. You can game on it as well cause it has a decent IPC.

I wouldn't bother, the build quality is crap the hsf is bent, the heat pipes don't align so there's like a 1mm step between some of them making it next to useless, I received mine the other day, thankfully it was so cheap, but Chinese and you get what you pay for etc etc

I'll try and add some pics when I'm home later.

Chloe...

I bought mine because of the lower wattage. I'm always looking for more power for lower wattage. I recently sold my Ryzen 3 2200g and I've purchased a Ryzen 3 PRO 2200GE from China. For a 35w APU...it's just incredible.

For the price...if you're only doing a mild overclock on the 2600...I think the Cryorig M9A I'm using would hold up rather well. For 25. it has a pretty decent build quality. Definitely not cheap feeling.

Interesting - I always wanted a Ryzen Pro. Not sure it saves much wattage compared to an underclocked/undervolted Ryzen equivalent, but the black heatspreader...
