Ryzen 5 3400g Mobile in Cpu-z

So i needed an Ryzen 5 3400g for a build. The cpu works fine, score in cinebench r23 is just below the i5 8400.
But in cpuz it is reported that it is a Ryzen 5 3400g mobile? Is this an lesser chip then?
I bought it from alli express so not sure if that was such a good idea, but otherwise it was nowhere in stock.

I think it is an error in CPU-Z. Can't find a "Ryzen 5 3400G Mobile" on the internet. Also, 65W TDP is quite much for a laptop. All other specs align with specs listed to the R5 3400G (cache, 4c/8t, clocks).

Laptop 3xxx Ryzens are usually named 3500U, 3550H... In addition, your MoBo should not start with a laptop CPU.

Thanks for the clarification. Indeed i also think it is an error. Just wanted to make sure, never know somebody else got it as well.
Maybe in a cpu-z update it will be fixed.

So, I recently bought one 3400G as well. And it showed exactly the same. I didn't understand this "mobile" thing too (and exactly why it's on 3068MHz, but I'm not a tech guy).

The mobile thing is an error i think within cpu-z. The core speed is the current speed of you're cores at the moment you take the screenshot.

If you continue to look in cpu-z you'll see that the core speed is always changing.

To put it in a nutshell if you do not use your CPU it lowers the multiplier and thus needs less voltage and this means it uses less power. If you do a demanding workload it will raise the multiplier to 34x (or above, for boosting) and you will have your 3 400MHz (or above). It is a simple power-saving feature.

Multiplier * Base Clock = CPU speed

Since your base clock (BCLK for now) is not exactly 100MHz (which is normal) you only top out on 3 393 MHz (with that BCLK in the picture). If you don't spend a lot of money on a motherboard (high-end B550 or X570) light fluctuations in BCLK will occur (it will be always about 100MHz). In theory, the performance difference between 99.8 MHz BCLK and 100.1 BCLK is measurable but quite meaningless unless you overclock and care about benchmarks.

So nothing to worry about.
