Ryzen 7 2700x wont boot when setting core ratio manually

New Ryzen 7 2700x and Msi x470 Gaming Pro

I have tried for atleast 1 hour to oc my cpu, but no matter what core ratio and vcore i set it to, i can't get it to boot, only on aut it will boote

Ram oced with DRAM Calculator for ryzen

der8auer say try 4.2ghz 1.400 volt and cpu load line calibration 4 but it won't boote, just before i settled on aut i looed at my power cable and noticed it wasn't all in the psu, other that that i don't know why my pc won't boot when i set core ratio manually, i just want it to run at 4.1 or 4.2 ghz with as little vcore as possible

There are no guarantees it will run at that clock speed, my 2700x isnt stable above 4.1GHz no matter what i do

It won't boot no matter what core ratio i manually set it too

Bail on the bios then, try forcing clocks in Ryzen master, remember to set a fixed core voltage.
You can save it as a profile and just use it when required.

Re install the bios, perhaps if you have a new one to download but it's unlikely to allow a bios Oc like you want, I think it's the CPU essentially saving itself from it's POV.
In bios the CPU tends to be driven hard, not sure why but looking at typical temps the CPU runs hot in bios.
So when you try to force a higher boot frequency it exceeds the FIT parameters of the CPU and won't boot, I get similar on this Crosshair VII.

In Windows the full AMD driver stack is loaded with all power saving features applied so clocking works better.

Just opinions on wagwan I have little other than applied experience in trying similar on a few boards and chip combos, all the same end results.

Can you take a photo and show the settings you're entering in the BIOS? Sounds like you could be making a mistake there

that doesnt preclude or prevent a mistake being made. i'm off to bed, but a photo of the settings you've got set and are inputting would help us figure out why you cant set them manually.

There was a bios update and now i have it oced, i just upgraded my cpu and it wouldn't oc using core ratio 4.2 no problem i just leave it at 4.1 ghz my ryzen 1600 af could only do 3.9ghz on all cores

is there still a 10c ofseet on the temps in CUPID HWMonitor

no idea i use HWinfo64, its reliable and works.

with no hidden cos shareware values.

Dude stop. You cant just throw 1.4V 24/7 into that CPU. The max safe 24/7 voltage is 1.34V. Go beyond and degradation will occur in weeks!
