Not a bad price Anyway I promised myself that I will skip the 3000 series and wait for the 4000. If it turns out the 4000 isn't that good i will get one of the 3900x or 3950x as an upgrade for my home PC. Especially if the price drops even more than that $419 for the 3900x. Fingers crossed

Bah, bought mine at launch price equivalent of 499USD, can't complain as it's expected, anyway, I've been enjoying my 3900X since August. AMD is known to lower the price of their CPU's after a few months, unlike Intel. Sure Intel may not do it now (we'll see about that), but they have been milking CPU buyers for the longest time now, so AMD coming along with great price/performance CPU at great prices is what we've all been hoping for (unless you're hardcore Intel fanboy that is).

They were only able to milk customers because AMD cpus sucked from 2011-2017 comparatively

Are you blaming AMD for this? I sincerely don't think they didn't wanna be competitive, they got derailed with the Bulldozer architecture and its iterations after that. Intel got complacent and simply stuck with small core counts, 14nm (+++++++ till now) at high prices. My last AMD build before my 3900X was an FX8350 build, also had a Phenom II X6 1100T....replaced them with a SB-E 3960X and 4770K (still have them).

Interesting it is $599 in Canada at Newegg and $579 at Amazon. $100+ cheaper than last week. If history repeats these will be priced nice around the holidays.

I was wondering when MC would catch up, and now they’ve shot right past the online retailer prices. I did notice after last holiday season, they had to drop their motherboard combo discount from $30 to $20. I guess you can’t win them all.
