Sooooo... I just flashed 1.1.7.0 on my Aorus Elite AX (F24c - possibly a beta??).

I've run into something I haven't seen before. No matter what setting I choose for the IGP within the BIOS, it remains enabled and when installing Adrenalin, drivers for Radeon Graphics are installed and configured alongside the 7900XTX. I can disable in the Device Manager to get around the issue, but I was just curious if anyone else has run into it in the latest or previous AGESA versions.

Also, GB moved Memory Context Restore and Power Down mode into the AMD Overclocking section and it's no longer in the Advanced Memory Settings section. :shadedshu:

I didn't even know there was a BIOS toggle to disable iGPU. Only the display priority iGPU or dGPU

Anything with a letter suffix should still be a beta for GB

Yeah, it was there before and also on the MSI board I had at launch.

And maybe I misspoke about the MCR. There's nothing left anywhere in the BIOS by that name, but now this (Robust Training Mode) is what's buried in AMD overclocking.

Something's changed because now post time is almost instant. I'll go back to the last non-beta and see what happens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I also need to figure out what 'Nitro Mode' is - it was enabled by default.

*edit*

Flashed F23 (1.1.0.2b) and the IGP disable problem is gone, and Power Down, Gear Down, and MCR are back where they were under Advanced Memory Settings.

yeah this board seems to draw a lot of power regardless. I can try going lower, maybe at some other time. What are your ambient temps like?

Every AM4/5 board BIOS has a toggle for IGPU disabled. The only exceptions are the boards that have no Display out on the rear panel.

I do miss GB and Asus BIOS though. ASRock's BIOS is kinda dated and light on features. iGPU toggle is not anywhere accessible, I gotta do some digging.

Other than this weird beta BIOS issue, I've really gotten to like GB's new layout. I still am much better with navigating MSI, but now that I've got GB and Asus everything is all new again.

I'm not super keen on it and the colour scheme makes me want to barf.
MSI I find a confusing mess since they went to their "panels".

Somebody to tell me what the numbers given by my CPU-Z comapred to the other same CPU would be interpretad ?:

I'm posting this in case anyone wants a Ryzen thread for troubleshooting and guidance. As someone with a build about to happen, I have a feeling I might need some help. New wave of CPU'S means teething probs.
So, feedback on BIOS issues, memory hints and general tweaks could be useful.

Trolls are welcome because frankly, I don't mind a fight. I've moved from a stalwart i7 3930k to a completely alien and 'untested' environment. I put my money where someone elses mouth was.

Let's make Ryzen a trouble free experience...
Be nice if there was a sticky for a bios guide. I have read many different sites about HPET, and 10 other bios settings with conflicting info that I just leave everything at defaults.

I've always liked to keep them up to date anyway even if there's no actual benefits, no matter the platform.
Asus, with the ROG Strix-F Gaming has had the "LogoFail" fix since January and there was another update in April, making Asus very quick to patching!

Also, GB moved Memory Context Restore and Power Down mode into the AMD Overclocking section and it's no longer in the Advanced Memory Settings section. :shadedshu:
That seems awkward!

Found it. NBIO>GFX config

Didn't think to look there since the dropdown is there in AM4, but only with the UMA modes, no iGPU disable mode

Well, there have been som weird UEFI security issues that have been patched, so it might not be for nothing this time around.
Specifically this:

You have me beat in CPU-Z by some margin, so it's looking pretty good to me.
I would try and tweak the memory timings though, they're very relaxed, not that it matters to CPU-Z.

yeah I turn off the image boot logo in bios for my mobo's, always have. so i don't think this security flaw would have ever affected me

I also update my BIOS whenever a new one comes out, never had any issues personally @Keullo-e

Maybe, or maybe they turn on like the old AMD Opteron for socket 939 really good cpu's

I never looked for it because I need the iGPU. It further cuts my idle GPU power by half or more, right now my GPU idles at 6W. iGPU always handles my secondary monitor (1440p). 4070 Ti handles my main (1440p), and when doing sim stuff/watching movies I turn on my QN90B (4K) also running on the 4070 Ti.

Without the iGPU, my 2-monitor and 3-display power would be 10W and 40W respectively. With the iGPU, now it's 6W and 20W.

I set mine to -30 offset in PBO. It let my all-core effective clock boost as high as 4.8Ghz (up from an average of 4.5Ghz).

It works much the same way as to Fmax so yes, the more the better. Fmax is 5050 now

You have access to the expanded CO envelope down to -50. I run -35 though, -45 is doable for benches but not stable. -50 daily stable would be impressive.

Hold on...didn't you have a 12600K?

Not as far as I know. It's got an enormous power headroom by default, so only your cooling can prevent you from running max boost.

I set mine to -30 offset in PBO. It let my all-core effective clock boost as high as 4.8Ghz (up from an average of 4.5Ghz).
I get 4.8 GHz by default.

I get 4.8 GHz by default.

Not all board models give the same performance, just look at Steve from Hardware Unboxed when he test vrm temps for the different models they do not always give the same CB score even with default settings.

With a 7800X3D? This little thing eats 80-90 W under full load, I wonder what crappy board can't even supply that without overheating.

90W TDP? Just take a lok at Intel. They sell that I1490 with a tdp of 170W. But effectivly it can shortly request 400w and more. ;)
