samsung 960 evo 500gb - read only 2100 MB/s?

i see people get 3000 or so on this so i'm wondering why i am 1000 off from that

i have it hooked up via an m.2 to pci adapter on an asrock z97 extreme 4
the drive has 180GB free and is in good health on samsung magician temp is 38 C

the machine has 3 other ssd drives hooked up to sata ports

maybe i am missing what you're pointing out though :)

samsung magician benchmarked a few times and averaged about 2800

Ah, was thinking of a different board. Just know that if you put the ssd in any PCIE slot, your main x16 link drops to a x8 due to lack of CPU lanes, the low speed could be due to distance from the CPU itself. The board has a onboard m.2 connector, but itll only run at ~800MBps
