Hi people,

I recently bought Samsung U32R590 and I noticed some flickering white pixels when the screen is black, even when I remove the DP cable. You can see a sample here

I'm certain that everything was in order when I bought it.

There's no real question here. If it does it when the video cable is attached, and it still does it when no video cable is attached, you proved it is the monitor. Since you recently bought it, take it back. If not really that recent, contact Samsung warranty support.

That's fine but not sure what you would expect for a advice.

The monitor was recently purchased. The problem appears regardless if connected to a computer or not. And that's the key point here because that points to the monitor and not your computer.

While power cords can be damaged, or have a manufacturing defect, they don't just go bad. And typically, if damaged or defective (or loose) the connected device loses power. You are not experiencing that.

However, if you thought it might be the power cord, did you try a different one? If that monitor uses a power block (AC to DC converter), because the monitor is new, it (monitor with power supply) should still be returned to the store for an exchange or refund, or Samsung tech support should be contacted for a warranty repair/replacement.

I would definitely try the place of purchase first. It is MUCH MUCH easier to simply take it back than to deal with dealing with a manufacturer's RMA process - which involves packing and shipping (you typically have to pay at least 1-way shipping).

but I'm trying to avoid it if it's something that I can change to fix it
The danger there is doing something that then voids the remainder of the warranty.

Doesn't matter since you're seeing this issue with monitor not plugged to the PC.

Return/RMA it.
