SanDisk Debuts the Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive

I wonder what the actual write speeds are. The read speeds are slower than other nano drives already on the market, so what about the writes?

Why? Most USB 3.0 flash drives have sub-100MB/s read speeds... So 130MB/s in this form factor is pretty damn good.

I checked their site. Well it is as always with marketing, disappointing. What they consider as standard USB 2.0 drive is a drive that writes with 4MB/sec. So write speeds should be maximum 40MB/sec for the 32 and 64 GB versions, and about 20MB/sec max for the 16GB version.

those 'poor' speeds are still way ahead of most cheap USB 3.0 drives over here. mine manages 15MB/s writes and 40MB/s reads, and that craps all over my various USB 2.0 devices.

i'd buy this for sure, if the price was low enough.

I really like Sandisk in general: have two SSDs and some of their class 10 microSD cards and I ma pretty impressed. But if speeds is what we are talking for this USB and size doesn't matter, I am using this right now: http://usb.userbenchmark.com/Kingston-DataTraveler-R30-USB-30-16GB/Rating/1435 . It gives me ~45 write/ 95 read. I paid 15 bucks for the 16GB version and I am pretty satisfied. Compared to the 40 bucks for 16gbs of this one, I think I will pass.

Because my flash drive is faster. And this is just my work one. This isnt even my 64GB Mushkin.

Is your flash drive also this small? My Voyager GTX is fast as hell, but it is also f'n massive. I couldn't exactly just plug it into my ultabook and leave it there and use it as a secondary storage. However, I could do that with this Sandisk drive.

I had to attach mine to my car key so I would stop loosing them. Now, if I loose my flash drive, I loose my car key.

But these types of drives aren't really meant to be carried around everywhere with you. They're meant to put in a USB port and left there to act as secondary storage.
