So it is time for a new computer finally esp. with the release of Sandy Bridge.
I will be using this game mainly for gaming, but will also be programming as well.

Here is what I am looking to get, I am open to suggestions. Looking for the build to about$900. Also, a note I am looking to power 2 23" monitors with this setup.

1. CPU / Mobo Combo ($340 - $440)
Intel i7 2600K w/ ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA 1155 MOBO OR Intel i5 2500K w/ ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA 1155 MOBO

nice build but i would go with a 560 when they are released. i loved my 460SE but it took a tweaked bios to perform as well as a GTX 460 768mb

If you have no need for hyperthreading, you should probably go with 2500K and save yourself some money.

As for graphic card, get the ASUS 470 for 210 after MIR + mafia 2 game (which you could sell for 20ish if don't want)

I'd pass on the 465, unless you want to do 3 way or 4 way SLi, its a GTX470/480 that failed (for the most part) and the 460 usually kicks its ass.

My experience with 470s has been wonderful. I've owned two Asus 470 (both OC'ed to 770Mhz) and an EVGA 470. I also owned a EVGA 480 shortly, and my overclocked Asus 470s performed as well as the 480.

Don't take the SE version it's only 288 Cuda Cores vs. 336 and take the 1GB version not 768mb.

the 1GB is better at high resolution than 768mb plus that the extra Cuda Cores will help u in games and programs where they are used.

remember GTX460 is build on GF104 chip and GTX465 is build on the older GF100 that's makes more heat :p

Ahh thanks for that I def. didnt know that.
Looks like either a GTX460 1Gb or a GTX470.
I gotta say the 470 is calling my name esp at $200.

Now any ideas on the case?
Will both of those fit this video card without an issue?

i got a Cooler-Master CM690II Advanced i luv it, dust filter and more for even in the mesh in the front and top :D

i have had mine since they released it, i even pre-ordered it ^^;

COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN2 CM690 II Advanced Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

it was made to be a 100USD (99,99USD) case and now u can save 10 bucks on it :p

if u take a GTX470 see if u can find one with a good cooler and buy a little extra it's worth it so u don't change it later bcs u think it's too hot, but if u are planning on water late than just go with stock :p

From my personal experience, 470s don't run too hot. With decent case airflow, they leave you with room to OC. Of course, adding an aftermarket cooler like the Zalman VF3000f will allow you to OC further. My Asus 470s with stock coolers ran at 770Mhz, but my EVGA w/ the Zalman runs at 850Mhz.
The 480s on the other hand, run scorching hot. Mine, with everything at stock, would reach mid 80s, leaving me no space to OC, which is why I got rid of it.

That is a nice case which I am adding to my list.
One thing I dont want is a door on the case anymore such a pain.
As I said I am open to all options just thought the HAF had some nice airflow and cable management as well as the NZXT.

Sounds like I should take a look at this case this weekend.
Thanks for the help.
Going to order to the RAM and PSU today since the egg has them on sale.

Any ideas on good Sandy Bridge Motherboards?
Looking for other options other than the ASUS Pro board as I prob. am going to OC it.
Just want the best bang for the buck is all.
