    So here's the deal:

    1. What I am giving up: Intel Core i5 2500K (4.7Ghz stable) + Asus P8P67 Pro + 16GB (4x4GB) Corsair XMS3 ddr3-1333

    Trade for:

    2. What I get in return: Intel Core i7 950 + Asus P6T Deluxe V2 + 12GB (6x2GB) Corsair XMS3-1600 + $200 cash.

Yay or nay. Vote please. Explanation for your reasoning, too. Thanks.

I say nay. You'll never see 4.7GHz with the 950.

Tough call... All that plus 200 cash hard to decide
If it were me I'd do it, I've been thinking about trading my X58 setup for P55, I just want something new to play with.

it was a sell it from me.

My point is even if he gets a RMA, the new boards arent going to hit till mid March most likely.
The real issue I see is a pissed off guy if he isnt informed of the chipset issue.

He knows about the chip set issue and I can provide receipt from Microcenter for advance RMA. I thought it's a good deal that I get $200 + a good core i7 combo.

I'd do it. That 950 will retain value for a long time. At the very least you will still be up $200 for an almost even trade, plus you get another 4 threads out of the deal. Then, when the new SB boards are out you will probably make enough on just the hardware alone to go back to MC during a combo sale and get what you had before and still be up some cash. I can't see how you lose here.

I already sold my Sandy Bridge chip, and am returning the board tomorrow in favor of a 1156 setup untill 2011 or Bulldozer.

200$ on top of the swapout is what got my vote, otherwise a straight trade would be a no.

He wants you to ship first when you have 41 positives? That seems kinda ridiculous to me.

He has 150+ feedback all positives. One of us has to ship first. Plus I am coming out ahead on this deal so why not .

I would do it... what the hell.

Looks like someone needs to read their own news about the distribution of the new boards. :p

Both me and the other trader knew about this but Asus is giving advance RMA so no down time for the user. It also has 4 sata 6gb ports so does not really matter.

I voted no but I see you already made your mind :(

Was too late to tell you why I think you should've kept your proc... Well, I hope your trade goes smoothly ;)

Microcenter will have this mobo+cpu combo again in a few months. However, do tell me your thought. I am interested. Thanks.

Well, even if they have the same combo for sale in a few months, do you think you'll be able to get enough when you sell the 950 in a few months, I see you going from 16GBs to 12GBs of RAM and with Bulldozer out and Ivy Bridge around the corner, do you think an i7 950 will hold its value in two to three months?

I mean, it's not like your current setup's giving you any problems, and chances are even at stock your proc will be faster for most tasks than a 950, don't you think?

Well, that's just my two cents, a 950 is still a very fast system, but there just isn't any future left in that platform. Even if you want to upgrade from your SB setup in a few months, your current setup may fetch a few more dollars once you get your board replaced by Asus, considering Ivy Bridge CPUs will work on socket 1155 boards.

That's pretty interesting actually. I did not know Ivy Bridge will still be compatible with Sandy Bridge mobo. What if I keep the trade and upgrade to LGA 2011 when it's out and skip Sandy Bridge?
